Actress Katherine Heigl is eyeing a return to the small screen, three years after quitting hit medical drama Grey's Anatomy.
The 34 year old is producing a new political spy drama about America's Central Intelligence Agency (Cia), in which she will star as an adviser to the president, and she has been pitching the new series to network bosses in the hope of making her Tv comeback.
The script is being written by The Following's Alexi Hawley.
Heigl abruptly left Grey's Anatomy in 2010 after five years as Dr. Izzie Stevens, a role which landed her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2007.
She went on to establish herself as a film actress, starring in movies such as Knocked Up, Life As We Know It and The Ugly Truth.
Last year (12), Heigl made it known she was keen to return to Grey's Anatomy to wrap up her character's storyline, but creator Shonda Rhimes has failed to respond to her request.
