The actress welcomed her third child, her first with her third husband
Kate Winslet became a mother for the third time this weekend, with a rep for the actress confirming the birth of her new son this week. This is Kate's first child with husband Ned Rocknroll, with the pair welcoming a baby son into the world on Saturday, 7 December. Congratulations to the both of them!
Kate and Ned met in 2011, marrying a year later
Already a mother to 13-year-old daugther Mia Honey Threapleton and 9-year-old son Joe Alfie Winslet Mendes from her two previous marriage, Kate welcomed a healthy baby boy at a NHS Hospital in Sussex County, England. A rep for Winslet told The New York Daily News this week that both mother and baby "are doing great.”
This is Kate and Ned's first child together, with the Oscar-winner getting pregnant shortly after her marriage to Rocknroll, who is the nephew of Virgin mogul Sir Richard Branson. The two tied the knot in December last year in a secret ceremony held in New York. The two met more than a year earlier at Branson's tropical retreat on Necker Island in 2011. The 38-year-old actress and 35-year-old Rocknroll, who works for his uncle's company Virgin Galactic, soon fell in love and got engaged after only a few months of seeing each other, tying the knot only a few months later.
A pregnant Kate at the premiere of new film Labor Day
During her pregnancy, Kate had been promoting her upcoming film, Labor Day, in which she stars alongside Josh Brolin as a woman whose life has slowly been disintegrating since her husband left her and her son. When they meet an injured Frank (Brolin) while out shopping, he takes them back to their home to seek refuge from the police, having escaped prison moments before their meeting. The two former shut-ins become infatuated with each other and eventually fall in love, but with Frank still at large, their love will have to overcome many obstacles if they are to make it work.
Labor Day is out in the US on 31 January and in the UK on 7 February.
