Kate Middleton has sparked rumours she is expecting her first child after refusing to eat peanut paste during a royal visit to Copenhagen with husband, Prince William. The Duchess of Cambridge sent tongues wagging after politely declining the paste at the United Nations aid depot on Wednesday (2nd November 2011).
Doctors often urge pregnant women to stay away from peanuts and their by-products, so to avoid allergies. While husband William dug into the paste, which is handed out in areas suffering from famine, cameras caught Middleton politely turning down a taste after giving the Prince a "knowing look". Adding to the speculation is the reaction from the Palace, which usually declines to comment on matters regarding the Duchess. Duncan Larcombe, royal editor of the UK's Sun Newspaper told ABC News, "Her spokesman went out of their way to stress that she has no nut allergy whatsoever". The pregnancy rumours came as Kate and William made their first official overseas humanitarian trip, learning more about drought-stricken areas in Africa and touring the UN facility. As always, the Duchess wowed with her sartorial choices, wearing a slim red coat with gold accented belt.
The couple married at Westminster Abbey on 29th April 2011, in a wedding watched by a reported 1 billion people worldwide.
