It’s a girl! Or is it? There have been rumors flying around about the potential sex of the royal baby ever since the news that the Dutchess of Cambridge was pregnant first spread. But Kate herself has unintentionally added fuel to the fire recently, by dropping what may be a hint about the baby’s gender. Ok, it wasn’t a hint, so much as a slip, but when have tabloids ever needed concrete information after all?

It all went down during Catherine’s visit to Grimsby recently, The Daily Telegraph reports. While she was talking to a member of the public, she was given a teddy bear, to which she reportedly responded with the words: “Thank you, I’ll take that for my d...”

At that point Kate reportedly stopped herself, but it was enough to send the rumours flying. The whole story was retold by another bystander, Sandra Cook, who later told The Telegraph that she then asked the duchess: 'You were going to say daughter weren't you?' and she said 'No, we don't know'," Sandra then recalls: ""I said, 'Oh I think you do', to which she said: 'We're not telling'."

 So, it all looks like solid, trustworthy information so far. In any case, guessing the sex of the royal baby does make for a fun little time-waster. Makes you wonder what color that teddy bear was.
