Kate Hudson 's arrival at the Venice Film Festival was a real head-turner. The 33 year-old actress was originally spotted in a casual white Gucci suit but turned out for the premiere of her latest movie wearing a stunning nude-coloured sparkling gown that showed off her impressive post-baby body. Hudson stars in The Reluctant Fundamentalist, which premiered at Venice last night (August 29, 2012) and was the opening event for the festival. She arrived at the red carpet premiere alongside her partner, Muse singer Matt Bellamy, her co-star Liev Schrieber and his wife Naomi Watts.
This year's festival, which is under new direction from Alberto Barbera, has been criticised for failing to attract big name stars and the movie received a mixed response from critics. Time Magazine praised the movie as a "tense, thoughtful and truly international" film, whereas Variety was less complimentary, saying that the movie "saddles itself with a laborious narrative structure."
Another highlight of the festival is expected to be the new movie from Paul Thomas Anderson. His new movie, The Master tells the story of a religious cult, which many believes bears remarkable similarities to Scientology. Harmony Korine's Spring Break, starring Selena Gomez, is also expected to be a big draw for the festival's film buffs.
