Kat Flint Dirty Birds Album

Somewhat strangely (and very generously might I add), this Scottish based, Barbados born, singer-songwriters debut album was funded by her Internet fan base.

First impressions count for a lot, and it's easy to see why the songs of Kat Flint could easily be dismissed (a likeness to Scottish compatriot KT Tunstall might arise), but if you take the time to dig a little deeper you're likely to be pleasantly surprised.

Dirty Birds features fingerpicked guitar, pleasing string arrangements and sweet vocals resulting in twelve enjoyable folk-pop songs. The undoubted highlight arrives with the incredible 'Anticlimax' featuring kazoo, melodica, sweet harmonies and incredibly infectious verses. Ultimately, for all Kat Flint lacks in originality, it's made up with a collection of catchy songs to warm the heart.
