Kat Dahlia is a Cuban-American rapper from Miami, known for her debut single, 'Gangsta' and her debut studio album, 'My Garden'.
Kat Dahlia: Childhood
Dahlia was born in Miami, Florida. At the age of eight, and at the age of 15 she began rapping, using instrumental tracks she found on YouTube as backing tracks. At the age of 18, she worked as a waitress and saved up enough money to move to New York City. Here, she self-financed her own EP and music video, which brought her to the attention of the record label, Vested in Culture.
Kat Dahlia: Career
After signing with Vested in Culture in 2012, Dahlia released her first single, 'Gangsta', in March, 2013. An accompanying music video was also released, filmed in her native Miami. In December of the same year, Dahlia released the song 'Crazy' for free download on her website. September 2014 saw the release of her debut studio album, which contained the two singles, and a total of eleven tracks.

Following her 23rd birthday celebration, Dahlia was arrested for drunk driving, and spent the following day in jail.
