Rockers Kasabian have been forced to scrap a handful of gigs on their current tour after frontman Tom Meighan contracted swine flu.
The singer was urgently admitted to a hospital in Sydney, Australia earlier this week (begs10Aug09) after showing symptoms of the deadly virus, believed to have been caught on a stop in Japan.
His bandmates also began feeling feverish, prompting doctors to order the entire group to remain isolated in their hotel rooms Down Under until they feel better.
Guitarist Serge Pizzorno says, "We're all sick as dogs, man. It's pretty terrible. It's a bit of a virus that we picked up in Japan. It's so tough.
"I am confined to my hotel room and I look out and see the Opera House and the harbour and so want to be out there in it all."
Kasabian axed their gigs in Australia, but the rockers remain optimistic they will be able to perform in Malaysia at the weekend (15Aug09).
Pizzorno adds, "The doctor says it will take a couple of days and we need to stay in our rooms and chill. But we hope to be rocking and rolling very quickly. It's what we're on the road to do."
