Ali passed away of natural causes on 18 August (15).

The producer began her career working under the Commodores' manager Benny Ashburn and, in 1984, she co-founded Renge Films.

During her career, Ali produced over 200 music videos for the likes of Stevie Wonder, Ziggy Marley, Dionne Warwick and Burt Bacharach.

She also produced commercials for Coca Cola and MCDonalds and made her feature film debut with Kla$h, starring Jasmine Guy and Giancarlo Esposito in 1994.

In 2004, she was nominated for an Oscar for her documentary Tupac: Resurrection.
