Kanye West is returning to his rap roots, according to his protege Mr Hudson.
The Stronger hitmaker adopted a new sound for his latest album, 808s & Heartbreak, singing on the majority of the tracks.
He was rumoured to have quit rap for good, but his close pal Mr Hudson insists West is back in the studio putting together a traditional hip-hop record.
He says, "Kanye's getting back into rapping. He might make an old-school record on a tape deck, just like the Beastie Boys used to do. Just a drum machine, ghetto blaster and a microphone."
