The rapper, who is expecting his second child with his reality TV star wife Kim Kardashian, turned out for the CFDA gala at the Lincoln Center in Manhattan and he took to the stage to hand the organisation's Fashion Icon award to Happy hitmaker Williams.

During the show, actresses-turned-fashion designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were presented with the Womenswear Designer of the Year prize by actress Amanda Seyfried for their brand The Row, while Joshua Jackson handed the male equivalent to designer/movie director Tom Ford.

Betsey Johnson received the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award from Kelly Osbourne, and others stars to take to the stage to hand out honours included model Gigi Hadid, actor Zachary Quinto and West's wife Kardashian.

The show was hosted by British funnyman James Corden and attendees included Ashley Judd, January Jones, Katie Holmes and Vanessa Hudgens.
