Donald Trump has revealed that he had a meeting with Kanye West at Trump Tower on Tuesday morning, where they “discussed life”, according to the president-elect.

In a short encounter that lasted just over half an hour, the 39 year old rapper, who had been spotted in New York City the previous night, met with the newly-elected president-in-waiting in Manhattan, from where Trump has been directing his transition process to the White House. Afterwards, shortly before 10am, they posed for photographs in front of the waiting media.

When they were asked what they talked about in their meeting, Kanye was tight-lipped, saying “I’m just here to take a picture right now”, with 70 year old business mogul Trump saying that the two were “friends, just friends”.

The former ‘Apprentice’ host also said that the two had known each other for “a long time” and that West is “a good man”. As Kanye left, Trump told him: “So long, man. You take care of yourself. I’ll see you soon.”

This has led many to speculate that Kanye might be set to perform at Trump’s inauguration ceremony on January 20th. Because of his extremely incendiary campaign, he has so far struggled to get significant pop stars to play.

Of course, many will remember that Kanye promised over a year ago that at the VMAs that he intended to run for president himself for the Democrats in 2020.

During his Saint Pablo show in San Jose back on November 17th, Kanye surprised many in the audience by saying that he would have voted for Trump.

“I don’t think his approach was just entertaining, because that trivializes it, I actually think his approach was absolutely genius because it fucking worked,” West is reported to have said, three days before he was hospitalised for exhaustion.
