Justin Timberlake has beaten Brad Pitt to the top of a new list to find the star most women fantasise about.

The pop superstar landed 21 per cent of the RomanceBeat.com/StarMagazine.com survey - just two per cent more than movie hunk Pitt, who was three per cent ahead of Oscar winner Jared Leto.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Ryan Reynolds round out the top five, while Ryan Gosling and Hugh Jackman also made the list.

Meanwhile, former Mickey Mouse Club stars Timberlake and Gosling have tied for first place in a related poll to find the celebrity women would most like to have a one-night stand with, and Timberlake is the guy most girls would most like to take home to meet mum.

Gosling, however, tops the list of celebrity men women would most like to marry.
