Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z kicked off their joint 'Legends of the Summer' tour at Toronto's 45,000 seater Rogers Center on Wednesday (July 17, 2013). Backed by a 15-piece jazz band, the performers treated the sell-out crowd to hits from both back catalogues with each lending the other a helping hand.

Fresh from news that his twelfth studio album Magna Carta Holy Grail had topped the US Billboard Top 200, Jay-Z kicked things off with new tracks 'Holy Grail,' and 'Tom Ford,' as well as classic '99 Problems.'

Afterwards, Timberlake performed 'Let The Groove Get In' from his latest record 'The 20/20 Experience,' as well as oldies 'Rock Your Body' and 'Cry Me A River.' JT also performed 'Take Back The Night,' which serves as the lead single from the second volume of his latest album, due for release on September 30, 2013.

Local newspaper the Toronto Star said of the concert: "Rather than engaging in the one-upmanship that might result from splitting the bill, Js "T" and "Z" opted - as Jay-Z did on his 2011 Watch the Throne tour with Kanye West - to present the night as a chummy back-and-forth that integrated and expanded upon the numerous, overlapping collaborations in their catalogues."

The Toronto Sun heaped praise of Timberlake in particular, saying, "Timberlake also showed off his music prowess on such instruments as keyboards on fan favourite Senorita, and both acoustic and electric guitar on both his own tunes and Jay-Z's."
