The stars of the hit sitcom Modern Family have come up trumps with their bid to cement a new contract and pay hike, after negotiations with TV network Fox proved successful.

E! News have confirmed that six of the adult stars of the show, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara, have all agreed to the salary offer put forth by 20th Fox TV. The lawsuit involving the five actors will no longer progress as they have all reached an understanding it appears.

A spokesperson for the TV network has since issued a statement saying a deal has been made and they "have closed new agreements with the six adult cast members of Modern Family."

Modern Family executive producer Christopher Lloyd went on to tell E! that what they went through was still an unfortunate situation, but a "necessary hurdle" nonetheless.

Lloyd also went on to reassure fans that the contract negotiations have done nothing to hinder filming on the new show, with all work on the show being on schedule. He also added that in spite of the contract talks, there are no hard feelings on set.

More good news for the cast was on offer last week also, as it continued it's impressive run of form at the Emmy's. The show has nine major nominations, including 'Best Comedy Series'.
