Veteran Rocker Johnny Marr Has Taken Aim At The Popular 'Legends' Performances At Britain's Glastonbury Music Festival, Branding The Slot "Silly" And "Patronising".
The Smiths guitarist referred to the Sunday afternoon session on the main stage, which is usually filled by iconic musicians, including Dolly Parton at last year's (14) event and Kenny Rogers in 2013, insisting he does not agree with the booking of veteran acts.
Marr says, "It's all about the singalong factor on that stage. It's such a big concern of everyone nowadays... This business of getting old country acts and people who have kitsch appeal, I find that a little bit silly and it's a bit patronising to the artists involved."
Lionel Richie is this year's (15) 'Legend' and is set to take the stage at the event in Somerset, England on Sunday (28Jun15).
