British Actress Joanna Lumley Is Calling On Her Fans To Donate Money To Help Save Two Bears From A Life Of Misery.
Activists at Animal Defenders International are campaigning to raise $16,000 (£10,000) to finance a project to move Lucho and Sabina to a specialist sanctuary in Peru.
They are currently housed at a private facility in the country after being rescued - Lucho was part of a circus act and Sabina was snatched as a baby by animal traders.
Staff at ADI want to move the creatures to a new purpose-built home at the Taricaya Ecological Reserve, and former Bond girl Joanna is urging animal lovers to get involved.
She says, "Animal Defenders International... urgently requires our help to rescue two more bears in need. Please donate now to give these bears the storybook ending they deserve."
