Blondie will release their 11th studio album Pollinator on May 5 and it’s packed full of exciting collaborations.
The album is the group’s first since 2014’s Ghosts of Download and sees the New Wave heroes getting serious about ‘fun’ during these trying times.

Miley Cyrus turns her backyard into a rock show in a surprise collaboration with guitar legend Joan Jett, performing the latter's song 'Different'. It's all for a good cause too, with the duet launching her new charity the Happy Hippie Foundation.
Miley Cyrus shows off her rock side
The 22-year-old pop starlet may divide opinion, but there's no doubt this young lady has pipes. Not only can she belt out a hit pop number ('Wrecking Ball'), rap (Mike WiLL Made-It's '23'), croon country-style (her cover of Dolly Parton's 'Jolene'), but her husky tone is also amazingly fit to thrash out a punk tune in the form of Joan Jett's 'Different'; a song which featured on the rockstar's 2013 album 'Unvarnished'.
Cyrus has launched the ‘Happy Hippie Foundation’ to help homeless and LGBT youth.
While some might be more concerned about her love life or the colour of her armpit hair Miley Cyrus is putting her fame to good use, by launching a charity which helps homeless and LGBT youth. The Happy Hippie Foundation aims to raise funds and increase awareness about youth homelessness as well as creating digital support groups for LGBT youths and their families.

"The position I'm in, I feel like I've got a lot of power, but so many kids don't feel that way. They're under their parents' rule,” Cyrus told The Associated Press on Monday. The 22 year old added that she wanted to use her fame for good, describing Bruce Jenner as her 'hero' for raising awareness of transgender issues.
The band were inducted in their first year of eligibility.
This year's inductees into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame, Joan Jett and Ringo Starr, definitely fall within the "about time" category. And they aren't the only ones. The 2015 inductees also include the cool kids of rock, Green Day.
Green Day were a bit overwhelmed on the night of their induction.
The Bay area trio also played a pretty intense show on the night of their induction, reminding everyone why they were the band to take punk rock to the masses back in the 1990s. From the opening power chords of American Idiot, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool had the crowud at Cleveland's Public Hall up on their feet and dancing along to the tune of 90s nostalgia.

With energy and insight, this documentary races through the life of one of the most influential musicians of the 1990s, feminist punk artist Kathleen Hanna. Her story is strikingly involving, as the filmmakers reveal personal details and show Hanna's potent impact on both the industry and society at large.
Even as a young child, Hanna had a fierce sense of justice and refused to be quiet about it. She also understood that music was the best way to get someone to listen, so in 1989 she formed Bikini Kill with her friend Tobi Vail. Their pointed lyrics and high-energy performances made a massive impact on the Olympia, Washington, grunge-punk scene. And over the following years, Hanna helped launch the feminist punk zine Riot Grrrl, created her alter-ego performer Julie Ruin and formed a second band Le Tigre. In 2005, she was forced to retire due to a mysterious illness that wasn't diagnosed as Lyme Disease for six years. She's now back on stage where she belongs.
Director Sini Anderson keeps the film moving briskly through its brief 80 minutes, although this also means that a lot of the context is lost along the way. There's never a clear timeline for Hanna's various bands, and the only real connection to other musicians is seen in her friendships with Joan Jett and Kurt Cobain (Hanna coined the phrase "smells like teen spirit"). But the film gets beneath the surface to explore the more emotional layers of her life, including her marriage to Beastie Boy Adam Horovitz, who has helped her get through her debilitating illness.

Kathleen Hanna was one of the pioneering icons of the riot grrrl feminist punk movement in the 90s as the lead singer of Bikini Kill and later Le Tigre. Outspoken and determined, she wanted to bring feminism to pop culture in a way that had never before been done, at a time where male orientated grunge artists such as Nirvana were at the top of their game. The years after her initial music career were a deep struggle for Kathleen, however, due to serious health issues. She had contracted Lyme disease which forced her to leave Le Tigre in 2005 and undergo treatment. It caused much confusion among her fans who thought she'd never stop making powerful pro-woman music, but now she's back in business with her newest band The Julie Ruin.
This candid documentary tells the story of Kathleen's chaotic career and troublesome personal life featuring intimate interviews with the likes of Kathleen herself, her husband and Beastie Boys member Adam Horovitz, Sleater-Kinney singer Carrie Brownstein, Joan Jett from Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, fashion blogger Tavi Gevinson and Sonic Youth vocalist Kim Gordon. 'The Punk Singer' won the Women in Cinema Lena Sharpe Award at the Seattle International Film Festival where it also landed 2nd place for the Golden Space Needle Award and was nominated for the Documentary Award. It is due for release on May 23rd 2014.
It's nearly time to usher in a new generation of rock legends.
Today's the day! A new year's worth of rock royalty will tonight be ushered into the coveted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. Nirvana, Kiss, Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens, Linda Ronstadt, Hall And Oates, the E Street Band, Andrew Loog Oldham and Brian Epstein are hours away from becoming the newest members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Former Nirvana Rockers Dave Grohl & Krist Novoselic Will Be Performing At Tonight's Ceremony.
Stevens, now called Yusuf Islam, is going to perform alongside the E Street Band, who are being inducted b Bruce Springsteen, as well as Gabriel. Emmylou Harris, Carrie Underwood, Stevie Nicks and Bonnie Raitt will reportedly be singing a tribute to Ronstadt. SPIN is reporting that Joan Jett will sing the Nirvana tunes, which has ignited rock fan's imagination more than any other rumour.
Justin Timberlake ended the iHeartRadio festival event with a few new surprise tracks.
Music lovers at the iHeartRadio Music Festival last weekend (September 20th-21st 2013) were in for a treat as Justin Timberlake rounded off the event with a few new tunes.
It was a rather special set from the 'Suit and Tie' singer who has dealt well with the endless live shows and televised performances pretty much running through the whole year. He was introduced to the stage by undefeated welterweight boxer floyd mayweather who crowned him 'the heavyweight champion of music'; a prestigious title that his thrilled audience certainly didn't appear to dispute. As well as performing some timeless hits from 'Cry Me A River' to 'SexyBack' to 'Mirrors', JT unleashed some brand new tracks from 'The 20/20 Experience' follow-up, 'The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2'. He sang his most recent single 'TKO', as well as 'True Blood' and 'Only When I Walk Away'. Even aside from the music Justin was an act not to be missed, oozing with charisma as he owned the stage with his entertaining and often comedic dance routines.
Other notable performances from the weekend came from everyone's favourite controversy Miley Cyrus, who belted out hits such as 'Wrecking Ball' and 'We Can't Stop' wearing a customary revealing outfit; Joan Jett, who teamed up with Ke$ha in an unusual performance which celebrated her 55th birthday; and Paul McCartney, who was promoting his, quite literally, 'New' album set for release on October 15th.
New York's CBGB Festival is back in its second year for what could be one of the biggest punk fests in America.
Almost like the SXSW Festival of New York, the CBGB Festival will return this year with an impressive 700 artists in 150 venues across the state, plus 40 movie premieres from October 9th - 13th.
The CBGB Festival made its debut last year, taking the name from the renowned music club in Manhattan founded by Hilly Kristal in 1973. The club was largely thought to be the origin of indie and punk rock in America and played host to some of the most influential artists of all time such as Ramones, Misfits, the Patti Smith Group, The Cramps, Blondie, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Talking Heads and many, many more.
All well as some no doubt stunning artists, both legendary and newly emerging, there will be a wide selection of film's making their premieres at the event, with The Landmark Sunshine Theater serving as the main film festival hub. As well as screenings from Danny Garcia's 'Looking For Johnny' about the guitar player Johnny Thunders, and Tony D'Annunzio's 'Louder Than Love - The Grande Ballroom Story', 'CBGB' the movie will make its opening night debut. Directed by Randall Miller, the film stars Alan Rickman as club founder Hilly Kristal who embarks on a major musical journey to bring to attention the most innovative bands of the age. It also features Malin Akerman as Blondie's Debbie Harry, Kyle Gallner as Lou Reed and Mickey Sumner as Patti Smith.
