JLS, The Beach Boys, Paul And The Saturdays Comprise An Eclectic Bill For Hyde Park

Beach Boys Rolling Stones JLS The Saturdays Paul Young

If you’ve ever fancied catching The Beach Boys, JLS, Paul Young and The Saturdays on the same bill, then you literally won’t be able to find anything better then A Day At The Park – the Barclays-sponsored gig in Hyde Park.

That’s not all, though: Elton John, Bon Jovi and The Rolling Stones will also be performing as part of the series of gigs taking place in London’s famous Hyde Park. Rob Hallett, President, International Live Touring, AEG Live says: "Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park is much, much more than just a music event. I have always wanted to promote a show where you can take your kids and your parents.” Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park will take place over two weekends, and is officially the longest, most boring name for anything, ever. “Junior can be enthralled with the Gruffalo and your daughter can scream at JLS while your parents dance around to The Beach Boys. Everyone’s happy!" adds Hallet.

Niall Horan Denies It's Him In Steamy Shower Twitter Photograph

Niall Horan One Direction JLS

Niall Horan, the Irish fella from One Direction, has denied that he features in a steamy shower photograph circulating Twitter. The boy band star bears a striking resemblance to the individual in the image, though Niall denies that he's the guy lathering up in the shower.

"That's not me by the way in that pic!" Niall wrote on his official Twitter page. "I'd be happy with biceps like that though to be fair!" Hmm, is Niall simply deflecting attention away from the photograph with light-hearted joke? Perhaps.

Despite his denials, the photograph was still too much for some fans. One tweeted, "OH MY GOD bbz you are so gorgeous, now post one from the front bbz," while another bizarrely tweeted, "F*** ME I WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH YOUR ARMS." Wowzers!

JLS Split Up: A Video Retrospective [Video]

JLS

It’s hard to see our keyboard through the tears, but we’re just about managing to type this through wracking sobs: JLS have split.

Called JLS as an abbreviation of Jack The Lad Swing, the four-piece boy band came second in the X Factor in 2008, but far surpassed the success of the singer who beat them, Alexandra Burke, by going on to clock four top three UK albums, including a number one for their self-titled debut in 2009. The group also enjoyed five UK number one singles, although they never managed to make it big in America as One Direction and The Wanted have since done. A message written on the group’s official website confirmed the split, with the statement reading: "To each and every JLSter, our beloved fans around the world. We wanted to make sure that you heard it from the four of us, that we have decided to bring our time as a band to an end.”

Continuing, it added, "It has been the most incredible journey over the last six years and we have achieved more things than we could have ever dreamed possible. Thanks to all of you guys, your support, your dedication and your love, you have changed our lives forever and we wouldn't be where we are today without you.” The group confirmed that they would be releasing one more album, as well as playing a farewell tour. "We are currently in the studio working on what will be our last album - Goodbye: The Greatest Hits. We will be bringing you a new single later in the year to coincide with the album and the tour,” the statement read, adding "Goodbye: The Greatest Hits Tour will be the last time that we will perform together as a 4 and we want to make sure that this tour is the best ever and that we end on a high! We will always remain brothers and friends and we will always be your boys." What is this life?

The X Factor's Own JLS Bow Out After Five Years On Stage

JLS Simon Cowell Marvin Humes

Nostalgia abounds as the news that one of the X Factor’s first prodigal acts – the boyband JLS – is no longer together. The lads first came into prominence after finishing second to Alexandra Burke on 2008’s X Factor competition. At the time, producer Simon Cowell refused to sign the boyband – what a mistake that was. After they signed with Epic Records instead, JLS went on to win two BRIT awards, fill 1.5MILLION seats on tour, sell more than 10MILLION records and have FIVE No1 singles – more than any other reality show competition, according to The Sun.

While we haven’t been hearing much from the band these days, back i their hayday they drove their fans almost to hysteria – with fans frequently injured in the crowd’s excitement at their shows. But now that the five-year recording contract is up, JLS are setting their sights on other goals:

“I’ve got a baby on the way in four weeks, so it’s another celebration for me. But that was also another sign that we were moving on to the next stage in our lives,” said JLS’s Marvin, 28, who is married to Saturdays singer Rochelle. “The last five or so years have been nothing short of incredible. It has been an incredible journey,” he also explained.

What's In Store For JLS, As Marvin Humes Lands Capital FM Job?

JLS Marvin Humes Rochelle Wiseman The Saturdays

JLS star Marvin Humes makes his debut on Capital FM as a radio presenter tonight and his new wife The Saturday’s singer Rochelle could barely contain her excitement on the matter. But what does this mean for JLS, if ol’ Marv’s time is going to be taken up in the London radio studio? In February, the band mentioned that they were working on a follow-up to Evolution, already, so hopefully, Marvin’s simply branching out and planning on doing a bit of multi-tasking.

According to Rochelle’s excitable tweet, Marvin’s appearance tonight will be an introduction to a regular Friday night slot, so listeners can have their weekends brought in by none other than the boy band hunk. “So excited for my hubby. Joining the Capital fm team. His first show tonight. Then he will be bringing on the weekend every Friday #boom x” tweeted Rochelle, happy to be revelling in her hubby’s new job.

Out Now: UK Album Releases (Nov 5), Robbie Williams, JLS, Aerosmith, Ne-Yo

Robbie Williams Calvin Harris Take That JLS Aerosmith Ne-Yo Carrie Underwood Sia

Calvin Harris will most likely be taking a peek at this week’s UK album’s releases (Monday November 5, 2012) and resigning himself to handing over the albums chart crown to Robbie Williams, come Sunday. In fact, it’s quite appropriate that Robbie has named his album Take The Crown, because that’s exactly what we think he’ll be doing this week.

Take The Crown is Robbie Williams’ ninth solo studio album and if the first single to be lifted from the album is anything to go by, it’s heading straight for the top of the charts. ‘Candy’ went in at number one yesterday, following an appearance from Williams on the UK’s X Factor show the previous weekend. The former Take That singer recently welcomed his first child into the world – what better way to celebrate than with a number one album?

Calvin Harris Talks About Writing Rihanna's Tunes

Calvin Harris Rihanna JLS

You may not know this, but Calvin Harris writes smash hits for others as well as himself. The Dumfries-born musician has been talking The Sun about writing Rihanna's We Found Love.

"It changed absolutely everything. Career-wise it was the best thing that could ever have happened," recalled Harris. "For example, in America my tune Feel So Close came out about three months before. But when We Found Love came out, the radio started playing Feel So Close like it was the single after. Then that did really well, it charted well and sold a lot of copies." His new single Sweet Nothing, which features Florence Welch topped charts last Sunday, and his new album 18 Months comes out this Monday (October 29). "It's very pleasing. I still get the same buzz, definitely. My own No1s are not that frequent, so it's a pretty special thing even though a lot of people say that you don't really have to sell that many nowadays -- it's all relative." He adds of the album: "There's a new one with Tinie Tempah, a new one with Ellie Goulding. There's a lot of different stuff -- it's half compilation of what I've done in the last 18 months and half new stuff."

Having achieved such success with his pen, Harris finds it irksome when people get his songs wrong, like the rumour that his new album features a song called Thinking About You written by JLS. "That's complete b*******, someone made that up and put it on Wikipedia. That was nothing to do with them -- me and Ayah Marar, who sings on it, wrote it," he explained.
