Rowling has spent most of this week responding to angry Trump supporters, who are burning their 'Harry Potter' stuff in reaction to a critical article she penned about the new president.
Proving herself once again to be the queen of clapbacks, J.K. Rowling has been on Twitter shutting down former fans who have been threatening to burn their Harry Potter merchandise.
A number of irate Trump supporters who disagreed with her views about the new American president’s controversial laws took to social media to air their grievances, only to be shot down in entertaining fashion by the 51 year old author.
The pick of the bunch was one person, who wrote: “@Jk_rowling glad I caught this article on yahoo. I will now burn your books and movies too.”

Quickly, she fired back with: “Well, the fumes from the DVDs might be toxic and I've still got your money, so by all means borrow my lighter.” Boom! Out of the park!
“Guess it's true what they say: you can lead a girl to books about the rise and fall of an autocrat, but you still can't make her think,” she captioned a screenshot of another message, which read, “just burned all my ‘Harry Potter’ books after being a fan for 17 years. ‘The Phil[osopher's] Stone’ was one of the first books I EVER read. I'm upset it has to be that way. You embarrassed me, disgusted me, and I will never read your work again.”
The next day, a third person tried to slam her. “You're a grown woman whose entire career is based on stories about a nerd who turns people into frogs. Stay out of politics,” the troll said.

But once again, she came up with a scathing response, writing: “In - Free - Countries - Anyone - Can - Talk - About – Politics. Try sounding out the syllables aloud, or ask a fluent reader to help.”
Later, Rowling acknowledged her more open-minded fans. “I’d just like to thank everyone sending me lovely messages, which greatly outnumber the bad ones. I’m now off to produce more kindling…”
