Jk Rowling launched an online book club for young readers today and will speak with her fans about the supernatural world of Harry Potter during a live web-chat on October 11th.
US publishers Scholastic, the publishers of the Harry Potter series and developers of the Harry Potter Reading Club website, told reporters that the new site would serve as a tool for parents and teachers as well as children looking to discover the joy of books through their own accord.
The publishing house also announced that the new site would act as the number one online destination for fans of the boy wizard.
The webcast will feature Rowling interacting with young fans face to face, the first time she has had the opportunity to do so since 2007. It will also give the author chance to discuss Pottermore a little more, the website launched in April this year to help Potter fans gain something of a tighter insight into the world of Hogwarts.
Rowling will release her first book since the Potter franchise came to an end later this year, titled The Casual Vacancy. The new novel will be the author's first book aimed at a solely adult readership.
