Who could make "The Fox" sound better than The Roots?
Viral sensation Ylvis have finally gotten some mainstream validation, by which we of course mean getting to perform The Fox on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. A treat for all you Roots fans out there, the Norwegian comedians did a rendition with the Late Night band, but instead of a cover on toy instruments, they performed their rather unusual hit almost in its original form.
The talk show host has always been good at keeping abreast of internet trends.
That’s not to say it wasn’t an entertaining show none the less, what with Ylvis bringing the fox costumes and their full dance crew to the Late Night set. Seriously, everyone was there, from the elephant going “toot” to the fish with their rather inexplicable “blub” – after all, everyone knows that fish go “splash.”

It was also rather surprising to hear that the comedians, brothers Bård and Vegard Ylvisåker, actually do a great job of performing their electronically-infused hit live. Still, by far the best bit was the collaboration with Fallon himself, dressed especially for the occasion in a lush fox suit and seemingly having the time of his life. By the end the carefully choreographed performance devolved into a massive dance party on-stage, but to be fair, nothing makes for better television than gratuitous dance parties. Chalk another hit up for Fallon and the Roots.
The Norwegian duo put on a pretty awesome live show.
