It also makes her “sad” that she wasn’t asked to perform at this year’s Brit Awards – or indeed, at any previous ceremonies – despite the fact she won the Critics’ Choice Award back in 2011 and has played at the Grammys and the MTV Video Music Awards.

Vanessa Hudgens took part in Fox’s special ‘Grease Live’ event on Sunday evening, just hours after announcing her father’s death. Hudgens played Rizzo in the special, the role made famous by Stockard Channing in the original film, alongside Julianne Hough as Sandy and Aaron Tveit as Danny Zuko.

Just hours before the broadcast Hudgens announced on twitter that her beloved father Greg had lost his battle with cancer. "I am so sad to say that last night my daddy, Greg passed away from stage 4 cancer. Thank you to everyone who kept him in your prayers," Hudgens wrote.

Rita Ora’s first season as a judge on ‘The Voice’ might not be over for a few weeks yet, but it appears the British singer isn't ready to commit to returning for another run. When asked if fans of the BBC talent show could expect Rita to stick around for next year, the 24 year old declined to give a definitive answer on her future plans.

British pop star Rita Ora has claimed that it is harder for women to make their way in the music industry than it is for men.

Speaking to the Mirror, the 24 year old singer was asked about her appointment to the panel of ‘The Voice’, when she said: “Without pulling the whole female card, I think it has always been harder for females in all aspects. Whenever we have an opinion it always seems to be taken out of proportion.”

Jessie J has announced the details of her upcoming single, 'Bang Bang.' Set for release at the end of the month, the new track will reportedly feature the talents of US pop superstars Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj.

'Bang Bang' will be the first single to be released from Jessie's upcoming third studio album, which is currently untitled, as well as Ariana Grande's new album, My Everything. Yesterday (29th June), Jessie teased the new release, telling her Twitter followers Not one... but TWO amazing feats on my next worldwide single! Find out who and what the single is called tomorrow #jessiejalbum3."

A few hours later, Jessie posted the big reveal: "Me + @arianagrande + @NICKIMINAJ = BANG BANG World Premiere 29th July! #BangBang. Ariana returned the sentiment, tweeting "7/29 @JessieJ + me + @NICKIMINAJ = Bang, Bang." Meanwhile, Minaj posted an Instagram image of the single's artwork which features a triptych of the singers along with their names and the song's title.

We’ve got to admit, when young female celebrities admit that they are bisexual, we immediately raise an eyebrow. Yesterday evening, the London Palladium played host to the 86th Royal Variety Performance where Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla welcomed a starry line-up of celebrity guests and entertainers. The annual gala's line-up consists of high energy family entertainment, including comedians, pop stars, dancing and other novelty acts.

Jessie J has been having an unpleasant couple of years – a postponed tour and losing her position on the X Factor judging panel (due to excessive theatrics, if the rumors are true) added to the poor sales of her second album Alive (chart entry #3), mean that the once A List pop star is quickly losing ground. There were still the O2 Arena gigs to look forward to, however and judging Jessie on her performing skill seems fairer than, say on the arbitrary measure of her reality show engagement.

It hasn't been an easy two years for the musician, who seems to be slipping from the American market.

Despite an initial glitch, which started off the show with an unlit stage, the stage design and production were certainly a thing to behold, according to the Financial Times. The lighting, particularly during the emotional “Who You Are” was also top notch.

Kylie Minogue is making sure that her new big red judges chair on BBC's The Voice moulds to fit her petite posterior ahead of the talent show's series three kick-off in January. The Australian singer has joined the contest for the next season along with Kaiser Chiefs' frontman Ricky Wilson after previous judges Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue left the show.

Ricky Wilson, the frontman of The Kaiser Chiefs, has been chosen to fill the remaining seat on The Voice judging panel for the next season of the BBC talent contest. Wilson has been brought in to replace the departing Danny O'Donoghue of The Script, as he joins one of four new faces joining the show.

Ricky is the final new face to be added to the show.

As the frontman of the three-time BRIT Award winners, Wilson garnered a reputation as one of the most energetic frontmen in popular music and recorded such hits as 'I Predict A Riot,' 'Oh My God' and 'Ruby.' He will join fellow newcomer Kylie Minogue, who has been chosen to replace Jessie J, as well as show stalwarts Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am. But it isn't just Wilson and Minogue who will be joining the show for the first time, as The Voice will introduce two new hosts following the departure of Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates. JLS singer Marvin Humes and Big Brother presenter Emma Willis have since been hired to present the show when it returns next year.

The presenters join the show's judges Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue who also revealed they wouldn't be signing up for a third series, despite the second season outperforming the first in ratings for its final episode.

Kylie Minogue remains one of the biggest names in pop music today, with a back catalogue that most modern day pop starlets could only dream of for their future output. With this in mind, her appointment as a judge on the upcoming season of the BBC's The Voice looks as though it could be the coup of the TV talent shows, however not everyone is convinced that she'll make a convincing judge on the show.

Her credentials as a pop artist need no justifying, however her credentials as a presence on television will be seriously tested when she begins her new job sitting alongside Tom Jones, Will.i.am and whoever is brought in to replace the departing Danny O'Donoghue. She is my all means a much more popular entertainer compared to Jessie, and probably more so than some of the men that she is joining, but she enters the BBC series as an inexperienced TV presenter and may struggle to assert any kind of personality and endear herself to the audience. Either that, or she'll be a massive success and be loved by all.

Pop star Kylie Minogue has signed on to replace Jessie J as a coach for the third series of The Voice, joining Will.i.am and Tom Jones.

The pop star, who has sold 68 million hits worldwide, replaces the outgoing Jessie J, who pulled out of the hit BBC show to concentrate on the promotion of her second album. 

"I'm very excited," the Australian singer told the corporation, "I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both series.Will I be competitive? Probably more than even I imagine! Watch this space!"

"Little Monsters" rushed to their idol's aide by reporting illegal uploads to record company UMG but the hot new track spread like wildfire across the internet. Gaga made the radical decision to change the single's release date to the 12th Aug, dropping the new track immediately on American radio stations to combat the pirates.

The Voice judges are dropping like flies! Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue are both said to be leaving to concentrate on other projects after two series as big red chair judges. Will.i.am is rumoured to be considering taking up a better offer as an American Idol judge and now singer Sir Tom Jones is reportedly in talks to negotiate his tenure on the show.

Indeed, he won the first series in 2011 with his candidate Leanne Mitchell and is considered to have the breadth of industry experience vital to the show's success.

Cole, 30, has allegedly been rejected from the The Voice judge job despite Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue's exits meaning there are two big red chairs going cold. The Sun reports that Cheryl's snub comes as a result of her being still too closely linked with The X Factor, with a source saying "Even though Cheryl is a massive name, she's still too closely identified with The X Factor. Producers want to bring on stars who don't have that kind of previous relationship."

The video for Jessie J's new single 'It's My Party' has rolled out online, and eagle-eyed fans of the singer-songwriter will have spotted her pal, the British model Jourdan Dunn, doing her thing.

The new video dropped early on Thursday (August 8, 2013) and see's Jessie - with her newly shaved blonde hair - dancing around, err, her party.

Will.i.am is still keeping mum about his possible return as a judge on the panel of The Voice. Following announcements from fellow judges Jessie J and Danny O’Donnoghue that they will not be reprising their roles on the show, will.i.am has said… not much, really. Both Jessie J and O’Donnoghue have explained that they chose to focus on personal musical endeavors – with Jessie reportedly leaving to work on an upcoming album, while Danny plans to focus on his band, The Script.

The rapper/producer is fresh off his performance at Wireless Festival this weekend.

Will.i.am, on the other hand, had the following to say to BBC's Newsbeat, while he was hosting a party as guest technology editor for Wired Magazine. When asked whether he would take part in series three of The Voice after giving away his salary for the show to the Prince's Trust, Will replied: "No. What that means is I paid to do The Voice that year. That means the hotels and the travel and the food, I paid to be on TV, because the money I would have earned went to kids in the Prince's Trust to learn science, technology and mathematics. That's what that means.”

Jessie J is to leave her role as coach on BBC1's reality singing contest The Voice, blaming overseas touring and promotional commitments for her new record. In fairness, the BBC was lucky to hang on to the pop-star for its second season after she delayed committing to the show following Leanne Mitchell's surprising win.

The corporation - which has already announced a third season of the show - said it was "so sorry" to see her go. You bet they were. Though Jessie J is often considered a polarising figure in music circles - perhaps for her wacky idiosyncrasies and the fact she tells contestants how it is to be a woman in the music industry ever week - she is absolutely key to The Voice's target audiences. She came to prominence with her debut single 'Do It Like a Dude' though it was the smash-hit 'Price Tag' that catapulted her to global fame - the catchy track topping the charts in nineteen countries including the United Kingdom, New Zealand and France. Her debut album Who You Are sold 2.5 copies and fifth single Domino broke into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US - no mean feat for a British pop artist.
