Jennifer Lopez celebrated her 55th birthday by heading out for a low-key dinner with her mum and a group of friends in The Hamptons.

The 'Jenny From The Block' star marked the milestone on Wednesday (24.07.24) - days after she threw a massive ‘Bridgerton’-themed fancy dress party last weekend (20-21.07.24) - and the actress/pop star went out that night for a meal at Nick + Toni’s in East Hampton with her mum Guadalupe Rodríguez, her manager Benny Medina and several friends.

A source told New York Post column PageSix: "[Jennifer dined] with five people ... She was polite and nice with the staff ... The owners seemed to know J.Lo was coming, and they slipped her in the back door to avoid the paparazzi out front.

"Several guests made warm toasts to the birthday girl ... She looked happy. But she wasn’t dancing on the table; they were not raucous."

The source added that Jennifer's husband Ben Affleck did not attend the dinner. He was also absent from her ‘Bridgerton’ party.

Another insider added of the dinner: "The entire room sang ‘Happy Birthday’ when her tiered pale green cake was brought to the table."

Other guests dining in the restaurant at the time are said to have included Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria and Michael J. Fox and his wife Tracy Pollan.

Earlier in the day, Jennifer shared an emotional message with fans thanking them for all their well wishes on her special day.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "I’ve been seeing all of your birthday wishes, beautiful videos, and posts all last night and this morning from all over the world. I have laughed, smiled, shed some tears, and when I saw the billboard in Times Square, I was completely overwhelmed.

"I really do have the best, most amazing fans in the world. I could never express how moved I am or how incredibly blessed I feel to have all of you be a part of my life. Thank you sooooo very much."

She added: "It’s hard to believe we have spent all this time together. It’s funny as I sit here contemplating on the most extraordinary journey I still feel like the same girl starting out so full of energy and bravado, so ready to take on the whole world on the outside and yet so tender, fragile and sometimes frightened but always full of love on the inside. I have so much love for you.

"I want you to know on my birthday that YOU are my biggest gift. Besides my family and friends, you have always been there for me in the good times and in the tough times. I can always count on you.

"And I want you to know that you can always count on me. Thank you for your caring, your understanding, your loyalty and most importantly your love. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you …"
