Singer/actress Jennifer Lopez has purchased a minority stake in an independent U.S. TV network.
Lopez, whose parents are both Puerto Rican, has funnelled some of her own cash into NuvoTV, which caters to English-speaking viewers with a Hispanic background.
She tells trade publication Variety, "When I sat down with the powers-that-be at NuvoTV, I saw it as a no-brainer. I'm an English-speaking Latina myself. I want to take NuvoTV to the next level."
As part of the new venture, the On The Floor hitmaker will play a creative role and help TV bosses develop marketing strategies and new programming ideas for music and dance shows.
The channel has already landed a big Lopez coup - it will air a behind-the-scenes special on its newest executive's recent tour with Enrique Iglesias next year (13).
It's not the only big business deal Lopez has been involved in in recent years - she and her former husband Marc Anthony are part-owners of the Miami Dolphins American football franchise.
