Jennifer Lopez is undoubtedly one of music's biggest female stars today, but this recognition also means the 45 year-old singer is a constant target for media outlets and the paparazzi. Lately they have targeted the status her current love life, but Lopez has finally set the record straight.

Lopez is going to remain single for the forseeable future

Earlier this year the Grammy-winning artist split from her boyfriend of two and a half years, Casper Smart, and this is just one of many failed romances for Lopez, but now she is a single woman and is planning to keep it this way.

The mother of two appeared on 'The Meredith Viera Show' Monday afternoon (Sept 8th) and told the host, "I'm just being on my own. I feel like I need that right now, I've been in relationships kind of back to back my whole life and I just needed time."

"I need time to just chill and just know me and enjoy my kids and actually make time for other friends instead of just the relationship thing," she added.

Lopez, who recently completed and released her eighth studio album 'A.K.A,' is now able to take some time to relax and think of herself for a change. "All of a sudden, all the relationships in your life and everything starts working when you take care of yourself," she told Viera.

Even in her mid-40s, J-Lo is still considered one of the sexiest female stars in the music business, but she did reveal that mornings can be a struggle for her. "Oh my god! This morning it took a minute to put all of this together," she joked. "Nobody's perfect all the time and certainly not me. I wake up and I think to myself, 'Oh my God. Put it together Lopez. Let's go!'"
