Jennifer Lawrence and Jay Z have been named as some of the world’s most influential people in this year's TIME 100.

The music mogul took number 1 in the Titans category, while the actress topped the list of artists. Each of them will of course be featured on one of Time’s seven special edition covers. The other five will also be graced by people on the list - Elon Musk (CEO and founder, SpaceX; co-founder, Tesla Motors and PayPal), Sen. Rand Paul and teen activist Malala Yousafzai appear on the domestic covers, while Li Na and Aamir Khan will grace the international ones. The issue will also feature a profile of each person on the list, written by another celebrity.

New York mayor Michael Bloomberg profiled Jay-Z, writing: 'Jay-Z embodies so much of what makes New York, New York. Jodie Foster said of Lawrence: 'You'll remember where you were when you first felt it, how you were stuck to one spot like a small animal considering its end.

The music business heavyweight took the top spot in the 'Titans' category.

'The Jennifer Lawrence Stare. It cuts a searing swath in your gut. A reckoning. I remember going to the cutting rooms of 'Winter's Bone'. I thought, Sure, this girl can act. But, man, this girl can also just be.' The Times 100 issue hit stands today (Thursday, April 18th), but the full list is also available on the publication’s website.
