Jennifer Lawrence will look to win the Oscar for Best Actress for a second time in 2016 with David O'Russell's mop-drama Joy. Lawrence plays Joy Mangano, the creator of the Miracle Mop is became one of America's most successful American entrepreneurs.

According to Deadline.com, O'Russell is plotting a Christmas 2016 release - an aggressive release date to catch the attention of the Academy. 

Mangano eventually sold her company Ingenious Designs to the Home Shopping Network in a multi-million dollar deal but stayed on as the company's president. She is currently one of the channel's most successful presenters.

Russell has good form at the Oscars. His movie The Fighter saw Christian Bale take home the best supporting actor in 2011 and Lawrence won best actress in 2013 for Silver Linings Playbook. She also received a best supporting actress nomination for last year's American Hustle, with Bale and Bradley Cooper also getting nods. 

Before 'Joy', Lawrence will star in the final two parts of the Hunger Games series - Mockinjay Part 1 and Part 2. She recently completed shooting the Depression-era drama 'Serena' with Bradley Cooper and Rhys Ifans. The movie follows the story of timber businessman George Pemberton, whose empire becomes complicated when it is learned that his wife, Serena, cannot bear children. 

Lawrence is also set to appear in X-Men: Apocalypse.
