Jennifer Hudson wants to collaborate with Mary J. Blige.

'Spotlight' singer Jennifer admitted as they both appeared to record the 'VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul' TV special yesterday (18.12.11) that she would love to do a track with her peer because she looks to her huge legacy as a soul singer.

Jennifer told VH1 host La La Vazquez she "wants to do a record with Mary J. Blige," adding: "She is epitome of soul music today. She feels like a homegirl and I also look at her as an influence."

Jennifer helped to fulfil another artist's dreams at the event, as she performed a duet with British singer Jessie J at the event.

Jessie later tweeted: "Did I really just sing with [Jennifer Hudson] WOW #dreamscometrue (sic)."

'Price Tag' hitmaker Jessie is also a huge fan of The Roots who also played at the event, later tweeting: "The Roots are INCREDIBLE!!!! They just played 'Domino' and my heart literally skipped a beat. This is a moment... #melts (sic)."

Other singers to appear on the 'VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul' show - which will air tonight (19.12.11) in the US - included Dolly Parton, Kelly Clarkson, Florence + the Machine, Jessie J and Jill Scott.
