Suzanne Collins' saga comes to a suitably epic conclusion in a climactic series of battles that are packed with emotional kicks to the gut. Director Francis Lawrence continues to show remarkable reverence for the source novels while relying on his A-list cast to bring layers of nuance to even the smallest roles. The result is a massively textured war movie that's packed with darkly personal moments and glimpses of wit and spark. It's also a satisfying conclusion to the franchise that avoids the usual Hollywood bombast.
As the rebels prepare to attack Panem's Capitol and President Snow (Donald Sutherland), the rebellion's figurehead Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) decides to take matters into her own hands. Rebel leaders Coin and Plutarch (Julianne Moore and Philip Seymour Hoffman) try to stay one step ahead of Katniss, using her as the Mockingjay to rally the troops. With Gale (Liam Hemsworth), a not-quite-unbrainwashed Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a small group of cohorts, Katniss works her way across the bombed-out city to Snow's mansion, intending to put an arrow through his heart. But the battle takes a shocking twist, and Katniss has to make a difficult decision about doing the right thing no matter what it costs her.
Right from the start, the filmmakers continue to echo Katniss' earliest act of heroism when she volunteered for the Hunger Games to protect her sister Prim (Willow Shields) and then vowed to keep Peeta safe in the violent arena. These are the things that drive her right to the very end of this saga, holding the audience in an emotional grip. This means that the political nastiness, violent warfare and publicity posturing all have a much deeper resonance for the audience, while for Katniss they are virtually irrelevant. Her mission remains untainted: she just wants to protect her loved ones and make the future safe. Which is why her speeches carry such rousing power.

George is a man whose life has turned upside down. With no possessions and no home, George lives on the streets of New York. His only family is his estranged daughter. Left with no other choice, George seeks sanctuary from the elements at Bellevue Hospital. Surrounded by other men all in similar situations to himself - and often much worse, there's little respite.
Living in squalid conditions, the only good thing that seems to be happening to George is he finds friendship with a fellow resident, Dixon. With a little help, George begins to get his life - or at least his mental state - back on track all part of a long process to mend his fractured relationship with his daughter.
Time Out Of Mind stars Richard Gere in an almost unrecognisable role. Gere recently admitted that when he was shooting scenes for the movie out on the streets, only two people recognised him and left him feeling invisible. He has since met with NYC Mayor to speak about the homeless problem the city faces.

Katniss Everdeen is determined to take down President Snow once and for all. Too many lives have been sacrificed and too many homes destroyed while the Capitol has brainwashed and controlled the people of Panem. Now re-united with Peeta after his rescue from Snow's clutches, Katniss gathers her friends from District 13 - Gale, Finnick and Cressida - and sets out on the ultimate mission to free Panem, and fight Snow to the death. But it seems it's not only Snow that wants Katniss dead, as she becomes increasingly paranoid about some of the supposed rebels. Facing increasing uncertainty, more tragedy and some of the worse warfare she could possibly imagine, Katniss starts to realise that ending the nightmare won't end the fear or the collective sorrow.
Clark Kent is a reporter for the Daily Planet in his everyday life, but a much hated alien powerhouse beneath the earthly guise. As Superman he has the power to destroy the world and, even though he would never dream of it, the world wants him gone. Even his efforts to become the ultimate hero go unappreciated, in particular by his Gotham rival Bruce Wayne; a billionaire vigilante known as Batman by night. He believes Superman is to blame for all the horror the Earth has been faced with, and vows to take him despite his limited abilities. It isn't long before the two are forced to unite, however, in order to protect the citizens of Earth from a real threat that could prove to thrust the planet into oblivion.
Having successfully rescued Peeta and the other Hunger Games victors, Katniss Everdeen is feeling the strain of being the Mockingjay for the rebel group of District 13. The propaganda is exhausting, and she is starting to become uncertain about who are the heroes and who are the villains. While victory over the Capitol looks in the rebels' favour, Katniss is becoming increasingly suspicious of President Coin - a suspicion which becomes all the more intense when she confronts the captured Panem leader President Snow. He seems intent on killing her, but he's not the only one. When the rebels' methods are shown to be just as hostile as the Capitol, Katniss has to decide which path the take and with the oncoming final Hunger Games, her decision is fated to change her life forever.
When an alien lifeform crashed to Earth decades ago, no one noticed. When his own kind came after him, the fate of the world was threatened. When he saved mankind, they looked up to him like a God. But times have changed, and people have died since his arrival. The world has had enough of the "false God" Superman (Henry Cavill), but there is already another hero in the world. In Gotham City, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) has spent years and billions of dollars making himself into the greatest detective and the finest crime fighter. But the Batman knows that one does not simply arrive to a thunderous applause. He has earned his role as judge and jury, and it is up to him to stop the Man of Steal.
The musician still doesn't know why she got cast.
Following Joanna Newsom's feature film debut with Paul Thomas Anderson's 'Inherent Vice', we settled down with her and co-star Jena Malone to discuss her latest career move and Joaquin Phoenix's just-roll-with-it aesthetic.
Joanna Newsom stars as Sortilège in 'Inherent Vice'
It's nerve-racking for anyone to launch headfirst into a career they've never really approached before, but between actors and musicians it's a crossover not uncommon. Joined by first-timer Joanna Newsom and Jena Malone, we explored not only what working going from singer to film actor was like, but also working in the shadow of living legend - but total sweetie - Joaquin Phoenix.
Harpist Joanna Newsom made her film debut in 'Inherent Vice' last year, playing the character of Sortilège opposite the likes of Joaquin Phoenix and Josh Brolin. We caught up with her alongside co-star Jena Malone to find out their feelings on being in a film with such an esteemed actor as Phoenix, the magic behind Sortilege's character and what it's like for Newsom to transition into acting from making music.
Contactmusic: Jena, were you as surprised as we were by the scream Joaquin Phoenix let out in the scene where you show him a photograph?
Jena Malone: Yeah. I knew it was coming and I was still surprised. That's Joaquin; he just sort of creates moments of surprise continually.
Contactmusic: Did you pick a different picture to give him each time?
Jena Malone: The Polaroids, as life, just got pulled as they do. There was no way to plan it. You're just like, 'All right, this is the one.' But there were a few really choice Polaroids in there that I kept trying to slip him, but it wasn't always the right one.

Larry "Doc" Sportello (Joaquin Phoenix) is a simple man. When he's not abusing illicit substances, he's solving crimes as a private investigator - although those two do sometimes overlap. But as the 1960s breath their dying breath, Doc's life is going to get perhaps a little too interesting for his liking. When his ex-girlfriend shows up one day, Doc finds himself unable to stay unintegrated with the 70s, as his new employer and former lover has him tracking down her new boyfriend and trying to thwart the plans of his wife and HER boyfriend. And if that wasn't complicated enough for him, there's something to do with a mysterious 'Golden Fang'. It's gonna be one hell of a decade.

The ‘Hunger Game’s actress has set off the rumour mill after being spotted on the set of the upcoming superhero movie.
Could Jena Malone be playing Robin opposite Ben Affleck’s caped crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? We certainly hope so, but the actress will definitely be seen in Zack Snyder’s upcoming superhero flick although her exact role is yet to be confirmed.
Could Jena Malone be the next Robin on the big screen?
The rumours that Malone could be following in Chris O’Donnell’s footsteps began when WILX 10, a Michigan television station, reported that the actress had been spotted on the set.
