Gigs in the park are fun and all, but can they really help to end extreme poverty?
So there’s SXSW for the hipsters, Coachella for the fashionable crowd… and then there’s the Global Citizen music festival, which has a different vibe altogether. Held in Central Park, the third annual event featured the likes of Beyonce, Jay Z, Alicia Keys, No Doubt, Sting and fun. The star-packed festival is free to attend and sets itself the ambitious goal of “erasing poverty by 2030.”
After their On The Run success, Bey and Jay graced the Central Park stage in honor of a good cause.
So here’s how it works. The acts all performed for free, with brief speeches by the likes of Jessica Alba, Hugh Jackman and Olivia Wilde speaking in between performances. It was an exercise in raising awareness and putting pressure on world leaders to enact more effective policies on equality. Attendees were also encouraged to take the pledge, which would earn them points to put towards VIP entry.
The duo performed he track together for the first time on Friday night in Paris.
Beyonce gave fans at her Paris concert an extra special treat on Friday night when rapper Nicki Minaj joined her on stage for a rendition of their duet ‘Flawless’. The performance marked the first time the pair had appeared on stage together, despite releasing the duet last month.
Nicki joined Beyonce on stage in Paris
Dressed in a patterned Versace leotard and a spiked headpiece, Queen Bey was joined on stage by the diminutive ‘Anaconda’ singer who sported a matched catsuit and high ponytail. The performance closed the Paris concert which was part of Beyonce’s ‘On the Run’ tour with husband Jay-Z.

The singer, who has just celebrated her 33rd birthday shared the four minute clip via her Facebook page.
Beyonce has treated fans to a special look at just what went into making her MTV VMAs performance so spectacular by sharing a backstage video. In the four minute clip, the highs and lows of rehearsals are put on display as Beyonce and her dancers are shown trying to perfect the gruelling routine. First published on her Facebook page, the singer captioned the video, “Flashback Friday! A behind the scenes look at the days leading up to the 2014 MTV VMAs”.
Beyonce shows off her impressive collection of MTV Awards
At the event, held last month, Queen Bey delivered a show stealing 15 minute performance of songs from her self titled album. But the rehearsal process was a difficult as you’d imagine, with the singer's temper being put to the test on one occasion.
Kanye West used his Made in America platform to fire a few shots back at Jay Pharaoh.
So Jay Pharaoh’s Kanye West impersonation from the VMAs is still fresh in everyone’s mind, right? Cool. Just checking. Apparently it was still on West’s mind too, when the rapper/designer/artist/superior human being took the stage at Budweiser’s Made in America festival. Instead of bringing out his pal and festival curator Jay Z, or maybe premiering some new music, ‘Ye chose to perform some old favorites and set the record straight on the Jay Pharaoh situation.
Loved Pharaoh's spoof? Kanye had a few issues with it.
“I called Jay Pharaoh right after the MTV awards,” ‘Ye told the crowd, disapproving of the “Saturday Night Live” comedian’s impersonation of him at the August 24 award show.
Over a year later, the trip has finally been declared legal.
Cue the “no longer On The Run” jokes, as Beyonce and Jay Z are off the hook for their 2013 trip to Cuba. The Treasury Department’s Office of Inspector General released a nine-page report on Wednesday, detailing its decision that Beyonce Knowles-Carter and Shawn Carter did NOT violate any laws, when they traveled to the country last year to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
It's ok, the Carters got the "all clear" from the treasury department.
In April 2013, the Carters’ trip to Cuba sparked widespread controversy. Because of the US embargo, tourism to the country is permitted only under a special license. Suspicions were raised that the couple’s visit to the island nation was in fact illegal – because the two engaged in recreational activities such as a welcome dinner, a walking tour of various Cuban neighborhoods and visits to see student artwork and theater performances, the couple were accused of violating the terms of their educational exchange permit. The story got such wide coverage, that Jay Z was prompted to pen an open letter to his critics and mention the incident in a song (also titled Open Letter). In the song, the rapper implied that he and Beyonce had received clearance from the POTUS himself, although the White House later denied giving permission. The new report rebuffs all claims that the Carters' trip violated the embargo.

The show must go on, despite troubling reports from the tour thus far.
Ok, overly enthusiastic music fans everywhere need to reel it in fast, because this is getting ridiculous. A man reportedly had his finger bitten at Beyonce and Jay Z’s On The Run gig in at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, after he confronted another attendee for groping his girlfriend. Following the bizarre sequence of events, Roberto Alcaraz-Garnica, 25, of San Diego was arrested for sexual battery and mayhem. Here’s how the scuffle allegedly came about.
The power couple have not acknowledged the incident.
“The suspect sexually assaulted the female victim,” Lieutenant John Luna of the Pasadena Police Department told TheWrap Sunday. “The woman's boyfriend confronted the alleged groper, and a fight ensued. During the altercation, the suspect bit the victim, causing serious injury to his finger.”
Beyonce has hit back at suggestions her marriage to Jay-Z is on the rocks by posting a cute family photo on Instagram.
Rumours that a seperation is imminent have plagued the music power couple for months, ever since that night at the Met Costume Gala when Beyonce's little sister Solange attacked her brother-in-law in a lift. Even as recently as today headlines globally suggest the pair are to split, yet Beyonce seemed to hit back at her critics without using her words; instead, she took to her Instagram account and simply shared a sweet photo of herself and beau Jay-Z taking a stroll with their adorable daughter Blue Ivy.
The couple wowed the public back at the Met Gala, and it wasn't just because of their attire
Beyonce and Jay-Z have been together for twelve years and married for six, with Blue Ivy born in 2012. Together they are one of the most influential celebrity couples in the world, dominating the music scene and currently performing together on their global 'On The Run' tour. They hit headlines the other day when they treated their entire crew to a surprise rollerskating party at a rink Beyonce used to visit as a child. Their joint tour concludes in September in Paris, and will also be streamed live in a special broadcast on American network HBO.

You'd think they'd have bothered to double-check the name spelling of the recipient of the 'Lifetime Achievement Award'!
Whoever was in charge of the captioning at last night's BET Awards should hang their head in shame after they misspelled the name of the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award, Lionel Richie. During the televised coverage of the Black Entertainment Television Awards on Sunday night (29th June), which was watched by millions around the world, the broadcasting team managed to spell Richie's surname as "Ritchie."
Sure, plenty of worse things could have happened, but it's still a pretty embarrassing move considering Richie was practically the guest of honor at the bash. To make matters worse, the mistake flashed on the screen in large lettering as the 65 year-old soul star headed to collect his prize.
Soon the hashtag "#lionelritchie" began trending on Twitter as viewers picked up on the blunder and quickly spread the news leading to embarrassment for the show's production team.

During the opening night of Jay-Z and Beyonce's 'On The Run' World Tour, the couple chose to display a mug shot of Justin Bieber. Fans of the 20-year-old pop icon have been divided with some labelling their choice as "disrespectful" and others considering it highly complimentary.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé have divided Justin Bieber fans when they chose to show his mug shot on stage during their joint On The Run tour. The couple performed on the opening night of their tour in Miami on Wednesday (25th June) and some celebrity cameos were projected onto the backdrop of one of Jay-Z's performances.

The pop superstar and husband Jay Z have kicked off their 'On The Run' world tour.
Beyoncé and Jay Z have kicked off their eagerly-anticipated On The Run world tour in Miami, with an inaugural performance taking place on Wednesday night (25th June). At the Sun Life stadium, the hip-hop couple treated fans to an explosive joint performance and a starry night to remember.
The 'Sweet Dreams' singer's frequent outfit changes were the talk of the evening, with an array of risqué new costumes showcased to dazzling effect. After appearing onstage dressed in a Versace fishnet bodysuit complete with matching balaclava, Bey swapped into a denim playsuit, a Versace leotard and a dominatric-style leather suit.
However, the evening's most widely-shared ensemble was a shining black bathing suit with two holes cut out for buttocks that the star and her backing dancers wore whilst performing the singer's signature booty-shimmy routine.
Hip-hop’s royal couple are beginning their joint tour, but what can fans look forward to?
It’s safe to say that the past few months have not been the greatest for Beyonce and Jay-Z. While the Carters are undoubtedly still hip-hop’s most prolific power couple, some recent bad publicity has seen their star ever so slightly tarnished. First there was the now infamous Solange/Jay-Z elevator fight video and ever since then rumors have circulated that the couple might be experiencing some marital problems. But lets forget about all the drama for now, because Beyonce and Jay-Z are hitting the road together! The ‘On the Run’ tour begins Wednesday night (June 25th) in Miami and expectations are high. But what can we really expect from a joint Beyonce and Jay-Z tour?

With the "On The Run" tour starting tonight, what do Jay and Bey really have left to prove?
Over the 13 years since their first collaboration, 03 Bonnie and Clyde, Beyonce and Jay Z are doing better than ever career-wise. Both are considered trendsetters and some of the (if not the) best at what they do. Both had innovative, best selling albums released last year. The media follows every move of the high-profile couple and their daughter, Blue Ivy. Now, with this summer’s joint stadium tour, Bey and Jay are about to cement their place as music royalty.
Flawless? They'll have to be, to pull this off.
The tour kicks off Wednesday, June 25, in Miami and will hit 16 US cities – not exactly a full run, but it could be that Mr and Mrs Carter are just testing the waters for a larger endeavor down the line.
The seemingly perfect family may not be entirely how they appear. Beyoncé and Jay-Z's relationship has been heavily scrutinised since the Met Gala elevator incident in which Beyoncé's sister, Solange, was caught on camera assaulting her brother in law. The couple are rumoured to, not only be divorcing, but also having another child together.
Has Beyoncé scrapped her reported plans to divorce Jay-Z as she is pregnant? The 32-year-old singer and her husband of 6 years Jay-Z AKA Shawn Carter are rumored to be divorcing following allegations that Jay-Z is frequently unfaithful.
Beyonce and Jay-Z attended the Met Gala together but trouble with Solange shortly followed.
The veneer of happy family life began to crack earlier this year when Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Beyoncé's sister Solange Knowles appeared together at the Met Gala in New York. The event, held on May 5th, saw Solange attack Jay-Z whilst they were in an elevator at The Standard, a Manhattan hotel. Footage was obtained by TMZ which clearly shows Solange hitting and kicking her brother-in-law.

Metallica are choosing to replicate Jay Z in performing a version of Wonderwall at their Glastonbury headline slot, but what are the best Oasis covers?
In a similar fashion to the announcement of Jay Z in 2008, metal titans Metallica’s headline slot at the iconic Glastonbury Festival has been met with a wave of criticism and derision from commentators who have deemed the Metallica’s headline position as both a lazy, predictable booking and one that is incompatible with Glastonbury’s demographic. However, whereas criticism towards Jay Z in the vein of what was unleashed by the Gallagher brothers was a scathing attack on hip hop as a genre, laced with a degree of barely concealed racism, Metallica’s backlash largely stems from elsewhere.

Firstly, this is a band that hasn’t produced an album of any merit for well over a decade and what’s more, considering they were announced long after tickets had sold out, how many of Glastonbury’s middle class bohemians will actually want to watch the band? Metallica have themselves responded to the criticism by announcing they may open their set with a cover of “Wonderwall”, copying Jay Z’s act of protest back in 2008. However, it does appear that Jay Z’s version carried a greater amount of symbolism, given that it was the Gallagher brothers who were the most vocal opponents of his appearance.
Solange has been keeping herself hidden away after attacking Beyoncé's husband Jay Z in an elevator.
Beyoncé and Solange Knowles have been pictured together for the first time since the embarrassing and disturbing bust-up between Beyoncé's little sister and husband Jay Z in an elevator after the Met Gala earlier this month.
Leaked footage showed Solange, who is also a pop star, lashing out at the rapper whilst he shielded himself but did not hit back. The group's bodyguard hit the emergency stop button and hauled Solange away from Jay Z with Beyoncé demurely avoiding the melee.
The Knowles-Carter family have been pictured together in happy photos to reassure their fans that all is well again but Jay Z was a notable absence from last night's Chime For Change event that the two sisters attended together.

Carter-Knowles Camp Content?: The Jay Z/Solange brouhaha confusion still hasn't been publically illuminated but the Carter-Knowles family seems to be intent on proving to the world that everything is just fine, fine, fine, thank you very much after footage leaked showing the singer attacking her rapper brother-in-law in a lift. Beyoncé's statement did little to explain her sister's violence but her newly-posted family photos do a good job of sweeping it all under the rug, for better or worse.
The pair have been pictured together for the first time since their vicious Met Gala altercation.
Beyoncé has posted a new set of pictures on her Tumblr page to let the world know that she, her husband Jay Z and her sister Solange are still part of a happy family despite the shocking violence witnessed last week. Had enough of the Carters yet? Yeah, we didn't think so.
We’d totally pay to see Beyonce and Jay Z’s new action flick. Music’s first couple just released the trailer for Run this past Saturday – with no prior warning or promotion, in classic Mr. and Mrs. Carter style. The trailer is a star-packed event, featuring the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, Don Cheadle, Blake Lively, Emmy Rossum, Sean Penn, Guillermo Diaz and Rashida and Kidada Jones.
Bey and Jay are pros at keeping everyone talking. This time, it's about their creative endeavors.
The trailer continues the couple’s favorite Bonnie and Clyde theme and sees them shooting guns, evading the law and generally looking really cool. But no action flick would be complete without a couple of emotional moments, so the short clip also features numerous heart-to-hearts with the aforementioned co-stars.

Beyoncé is ensuring no one has the wrong idea about her relationship with her sister Solange. The singer posted a series of pictures of the pair together on her Instagram account following Solange’s highly publicised fight with Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z.
Beyonce and Jay-Z mere hours before Jay-Z's fight with Solange.
Solange and Jay-Z appear to have had a disagreement which ended in blows at the beginning of May. The incident occurred the night of the New York Met Gala on Saturday (3rd May) and Solange appears to have attacked Jay-Z in an elevator at the Standard Hotel. Surveillance footage seemingly shows a tuxedo clad Jay-Z being kicked and punched by Solange before the two security men accompanying the pair forcibly hauled Solange away from the rapper. We’re still not sure what the disagreement was about and, although the pair and Beyoncé have released a statement, they did not allude to the reasons behind the fight.
The world is still wondering what caused Solange Knowle's sudden outburst against Jay Z at the Met Gala. Here's some explanations that have been offered up.
So, this whole Jay Z/Solange thing? We’re still trying to get our heads around it. Beyonce has gone from having the most outwardly perfect family life to being embroiled in some sort of Jerry Spring family feud. Here are the facts. Along with a lot of finger pointing, Beyonce’s little sister, Solange Knowles, launched herself at Jay Z in a lift at the Met Gala. Held back by a bodyguard, Solange spent around 3 minutes trying to punch and kick the rapper, while a bodyguard held her back. Beyonce calmly stood between the two, while Jay appeared to try talking to the furious Solange, occasionally blocking himself from her attempted blows.
Solange spent three minutes shouting, finger pointing and attemping to hit her brother-in-law Jay Z
The whole world’s been wondering what Jay Z did (if anything) to rile Solange up so much. The hashtag #WhatJayZSaidToSolange was packed full of funny suggestions about what could have started the fight, but we’re inclined to think that Jay didn’t insult Solange’s afro, or comment that his lips are bigger than her career.

Beyonce has released an official statement regarding the altercation between her sister Solange and her husband Jay Z, which took place after the Met Gala.
We’re no closer to finding out what really happened between Solange and Jay Z at the Met Gala, although the famous family have released a statement regarding the incident. Beyonce addressed the physical altercation, which saw her sister Solange attack her husband Jay Z in a lift after the Met Ball.
Jay Z and his wife Beyonce put on a union front earlier in the evening at the Met Gala
Beyonce explained: "As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it…Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologised to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”
Rachel Roy's name keeps coming up in the Solange/Jay-Z saga, but who is the fashion designer?
Fashion designer Rachel Roy has found herself at the center of speculation surrounding the now infamous Solange Knowles/Jay-Z elevator video. The 40 year old designer has been a fixture on the celebrity scene for years now, but this week her profile has been raised immensely thanks to her rumored part in the Knowles' drama. So beyond the rumors, what do we actually know about Rachel Roy?
Rachel Roy is rumoured to be the cause of Jay-Z and Solange's argument
California native Rachel got her start in the fashion world after moving to New York to work in retail and setting herself up as a stylist for magazines and music videos. But her first big career break came when she landed an internship at Rocawear, the fashion label of Jay-Z and then business partner Damon Dash. Dash and Roy soon became close and in 1999 their daughter Ava was born. However Dash was also in a relationship with singer Aaliyah at the tine which continued until her untimely death in 2001.

The leaked tape was allegedly sold for $250,000 after "being shopped for five days to the highest bidder."
The tape of Solange Knowles attempting to kick and punch her brother-in-law, Jay-Z, in an elevator after the Met Gala, has garnered global interest and has nearly reached 6 million views on YouTube.
So it is little surprise that the individual who leaked the security footage to TMZ would have earned quite a lot of money in the transaction.
After its release earlier this week, reports began surfacing that are putting a price tag on the tape, and it is allegedly a six-figure sum.
As usual, it was more complicated than we all thought.
The story of how Solange Knowles attacked Jay Z after the Met Gala was bizarre enough on its own, but it sounds even stranger since Rihanna’s name was mentioned. According to the New York Daily News, the younger Knowles sister lashed out at her brother in law after he said he was going to Rihanna’s after party without his wife. Apparently the tension had been brewing for a while, but it boiled over when Solange, Beyonce and Jay Z entered the now infamous Standard Hotel elevator.

The 27 year-old singer reportedly became incensed by the music mogul wanting to attend another A-List celebrity's after-party...without his wife.
The answer may be involving the rapper wanting to continue to party into the night, without his wife Beyoncé.
According to the New York Daily News, the intense row started when Jay got angry at Solange after two of her friends tried using his name in an attempt to get into the star-studded after-party at The Standard hotel in Manhattan.
What is the Twitterverse saying about the now infamous Solange Knowles beatdown of Jay-Z?
The internet is a funny place today. Unless you've been living under a rock you've heard all about Solange Knowles and Jay-Z getting in one heck of a scuffle in a lift at the Standard Hotel after the Met Gala. No-one's quite sure what went down, but we do know that Solange launched herself at the rapper before being dragged off him by a man who appears to be a bodyguard.
Solange Knowles Beat Jay-Z In An Elevator
The video was obtained by TMZ, and shows Solange clearly trying to attack her brother-in-law and father of her niece, Blue Ivy. Now, all that everyone is interested in is what provoked Solange's outburst. The footage has no audio, which has led to a global internet campaign to guess what it was that Jay Z may have said to the singer. The hashtag #WhatJayZSaidToSolange has been trending since the video surfaced, here's a few of our favourite tweets on the topic.

Shocking elevator footage shows Solange trying to batter her brother-in-law.
Solange Knowles' relationship with her brother-in-law Jay Z has become the subject of intense public scrutiny today as yet another celebrity family's dirty laundry was aired for the entire world to see. Well, sort of: the soul singer set upon the rapper and husband to her sister Beyoncé behind what she thought were the closed doors of an elevator whilst descending from a post-Met Gala soiree.
After A Night At The Met Gala, Jay Z Was Attacked By Beyoncé's Sister, Solange.
The footage shows the 27 year-old mother-of-one lashing out at Jay Z with both her arms and legs as the group's bodyguard attempts to pull her away. Jay Z doesn't make any move to hit back at Solange, rather he pushes her legs away from his chest when she aims high with a stiletto-footed kick. Solange's limbs reach their target on more than one occasion, prompting the bodyguard to hit what looks like the emergency stop button to prevent the scene spilling out in front of the waiting paps.
Made in America Festival is an annual music event founded by rapper and businessman Jay-Z in 2012. Following its inaugural year, it was announced to take place in Los Angeles for the later events and its arrival has since become an important symbol of unity. Jay-Z created the festival in a bid to join together musicians of all genres, creeds and cultures to emphasise the bond between music-lovers regardless of any animosity that may have existed between hip hop artists, rock artists and pop artists in the past. Beyonce and Jay-Z are heading out on tour together, what can we expect from music's most famous couple?
In what promises to be some of the most exciting gigs of the summer, Mr and Mrs Carter ie Beyonce and Jay-Z are teaming up together for the 'On The Run' tour. Arguably music’s most successful couple, the 15 date tour, which is so far only reaching North America, will mark the first time the pair have hit the road together. Whilst no details have been given yet on how the actual shows are going to play out, one thing’s for sure, Beyonce and Jay-Z combined is going to make for one epic tour.
Beyonce and Jay-Z are going 'On the Run' together this summer
Whatever the reason behind the couple touring together, (wanting a big fat payday, wanting to spend time together or most likely both), we can be certain that Beyonce and Jay-Z are going to put on one heck of a show together. If Beyonce’s solo 'Mrs Cater Show' world tour is anything to go by expect a massive production that will surely only get bigger with Hova onboard. As for Jay-Z, he loves the combined tour gimmick. Last year he hit the road with Justin Timberlake for the 'Legends of Summer' tour and previously he teamed with Kanye West for the 'Watch the Throne' tour.

Music fans have named Ozzy Osbourne the hardest artist to understand, a poll reveals.
Music fans have named Lady GaGa, Miley Cyrus and Rihanna in their top ten hardest artists to understand lyrically. 2000 people took part in the poll, which was created by Blinkbox music, a music streaming service. The poll aimed to find out which artist's lyrics fans find the hardest to decipher.
Music fans have named Ozzy Osbourne the hardest artist to understand
Ozzy Osbourne bagged first place as the artist whose music is hardest to make out. Fans are often left confused about what the Black Sabbath frontman is saying in his songs. It’s unclear whether they are able to understand him when he isn’t singing, as demonstrated by his bizarre Grammys intro speech.
The rapper is certainly down with his pop culture.
Drake has delighted his fans by unexpectedly dropping new track, 'Draft Day,' which apparently refers to next month's NFL draft. The pop-infused rap track keeps ahead of the curve by namechecking other contemporary stars such as Jennifer Lawrence and Chicago MC Chance The Rapper, over a Lauryn Hill sample.
Drake Has Dropped Brand New Track, 'Draft Day.'
The new song follows another new Drake song, 'Days In The East', played for the first time during a gig at Birmingham's NIA last month (March 21), which could indicate that, like Kanye West, Drake has a follow up to his 2013 album scheduled for release this year. Sampling Lauryn Hill's 1998 hit "Doo Wop (That Thing)," the tune opens with a nod to 21-year-old college football star Johnny Manziel.
Kate Winslet has named her new baby son Bear Blaze, but some of these other celebrity baby names are even more out of the ordinary.
Children of celebrities never have to go to normal schools where the other children will make fun of their wacky names, which means that the stars can go wild when naming their pampered offspring. There must be schools in Beverly Hills teaming with Donatello Zeuses and Princess Bananaramas.
You don’t come across many Janes or Johns in the celeb baby world, but funnily there seems to be a few Bears going around at the moment. Kate Winslet and Alicia Silverstone both have sons called Bear, although to set mini Winslet apart his middle name is Blaze, as a reminder of the house fire that his parents first met in. Romantic. As a side note, Winslet's husband changed his own name to Ned RocknRoll, so we're not surprised that the couple have chosen a name that is a little less out of the ordinary.

Why do celebrities seem to be now all using Samsungs?
Oh dear Lebron James probably didn't make Samsung execs too happy on Wednesday when he took to Twitter to complain about his phone erasing itself. You see, James is being paid big money by Samsung to promote their products so his angry tweet wasn't very good publicity. Of course the tweet was then soon deleted. But James isn't the only celebrity Samsung has on speed dial, lately it seems many celebs have been all to keen to show off their Samsung products.
LeBron James was left unhappy when his phone got erased
Remember when Ellen DeGeneres took that famous selfie at this year’s Oscars? Well, whilst we were all looking to see just how many famous faces we could spot what we were really meant to be looking at was the phone Ellen used, it was a Samsung Galaxy 3 Note. Samsung were big sponsors at the Oscars and their cheeky bit of product placement with Ellen served them very well, the picture she tweeted was then retweeted 3 million times within 24 hours. With those retweets Samsung got an estimated 900 Samsung mentions a minute on social media. Not bad at all, until Ellen sent out her next tweet which happened to come from an iPhone, oops.

The leaked song is thought to have been recorded before 'Random Access Memories.'
A new Daft Punk/Jay Z collaboration has leaked online and has sent fans into a whirlwind of curiosity regarding the origins of the song. 'Computerized' is a track that sounds more like the old, purely electro Daft Punk, with their vocoders and sterile synths, rather than their new disco direction, as heard on Random Access Memories.
A New Daft Punk & Jay Z Collaboration, 'Computerized,' Has Been Leaked Online.
It seems likely that the track was intended for 2010's Tron: Legacy franchise reboot, for which the French duo memorably provided the soundtrack, but 'Computerized' may have been one of the songs that didn't make Disney's final cut. The song was leaked by a Daft Punk fan on a message board and is said to be from "an old Disney project."

The crowd hadn't expected Beyoncé to drop by for a little song.

The couple's appearance at New York club Pier 40 on Saturday night echoed the previous weekend's Grammy Awards where Beyoncé's solo performance became a duet when her husband Jay Z arrived.

George Zimmerman, the security guard who claimed to have shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in self-defence and was subsequently tried last summer, has allegedly promised to participate in a celebrity boxing match.
What makes a celebrity a celebrity? It's an age old question which seems to become more abstract and contorted as time goes on.
George Zimmerman, apparently, is a celebrity. Or so his promised participation in a celebrity boxing match would suggest!
Zimmerman is, in case anyone has been avoiding the news for the past two years, the man who shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in February 2012. Zimmerman claims he shot Martin in self-defence whilst working as a security guard in a gated Florida community. Although Zimmerman was acquitted during the trial, which continued throughout summer 2013, numerous protests were organised owing to the delayed arrest of Zimmerman and the accusations that he had racially profiled Martin. The court case was high profile and attracted numerous celebrity contributors and commentators, including Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

The smoke; the lights; the big drums; Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar's show was spectacular.
The aftermath of this year's Grammy Awards on Sunday was filled with talk about Beyoncé and Jay Z's sexually-charged 'Drunk In Love' performance, Madonna's mass marriage, Taylor Swift's surprised face and the rock-tastic finale show. However, as the dust has died down, one performance in particular stands out for its explosive mash-up and unique collaboration.
Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar performed a hybrid version of the former's hit 'Radioactive' and the latter's 'MAAD City' to considerable critical acclaim. Not only did the two songs mesh extremely well together but the rock band and the rapper brought a show to the Grammys that will be talked about for months to come.
The awards ceremony was itself a winner last night.
The 56th Grammy Awards has been rewarded for its monumental live performance line-up at last night's ceremony with the news that more people tuned in to catch the show than have done since 1993. The star-studded ceremony, which showcased talent including Daft Punk, Beyoncé and Jay Z, Nine Inch Nails, Sire Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, and Madonna, proved to be its most successful in 21 years with 28.5 million viewers.

This year's viewing figure, provided by the Nielsen Company via the AP, mark an increase on last year's 28.4 million watchers of the telecast beamed straight from Los Angeles' Staples Center. The Grammys reached nearly 40 million people during Adele's big year two years ago and reportedly hasn't been below 25 million since 2009.
Beyoncé and Jay Z will perform together at the 56th Grammy Awards at the end of this month, joining a list of live acts which includes, Taylor Swift, Daft Punk, Paul McCartney and Katy Perry.
Beyoncé and her hip-hop mogul husband Jay Z are the next artists to be added to the list of performers at the Grammy Awards later this month. Their appearance was confirmed by a commercial, which aired on Sunday (Jan 19th), where CBS announced music's power couple will be taking the stage.

At Jay-Z and Beyonce's daughter's 2nd birthday party on Tuesday (7 Jan.), the rapper wanted to get Blue something personal
Blue Ivy had a birthday that most of us could only dream of when she turned two-years-old earlier this month and on top of celebrating the her birthday in a completely rented-out zoo, she also got a special gift from Uncle Kanye West.
Kanye West really does have a soft side after all
The rapper and close friend of Blue's father Jay-Z wanted to give the infant something special and personal as a gift, so he composed an original lullaby for her. According to TMZ, Beyonce and Jay rented out Jungle Island, a wildlife park and botanical garden in Miami, with a handful of close friend and family in attendance for the special occasion. It was later reported by the Daily Star that Kanye decided tone down on the bass-heavy, manic beats found in his acclaimed 2013 album Yeezus for his latest track, as he wrote Blue Ivy a personal lullaby for her birthday. We can only imagine what kind of gift his own daughter, North West, will get when she celebrates her first birthday this summer.

They also invited a group of select friends with who to share the experience.
Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated Blue Ivy's birthday in style.
Jungle Island in Miami was the zoo in question, a park which holds a wide variety of exotic animals and exhibitions. Unfortunately, as Blue Ivy is two, is seems unlikely much of the expensive and exclusive experience will remain with her. We suspect the zoo may have been hired primarily for her parent's entertainment!

After Jay Z proposed to Beyoncé on his birthday, she celebrated by taking him to a strip club. This would later inspire the music video for her song, 'Partition'.
After saying yes, Beyoncé celebrated Jay Z's proposal to her with a trip to a strip club. Despite being notoriously secretive in regards to her relationship with the '99 Problems' rapper - going as far as to not confirm their 2008 secret wedding - the 'XO' hitmaker has now revealed that Jay Z proposed to her on his birthday; 4th December, 2007. Their secret ceremony took place in New York City in April of the following year.

Beyonce's surprise self-titled album stunned everyone, to the point that there isn't a negative review in sight.
Since she dropped the bomb on Thursday, Beyonce has occupied thousands of terabytes of data transfer with her new album. People are naturally baffled. Yes, we all know Beyonce is pretty much amazing, but even for her, it was an astounding feat. The woman, who opened 2013 by performing at the Inauguration, then went on to do the Super Bowl halftime show to end all halftime shows, went on a 123-show tour, took care of her little girl and still managed to record a 14-track album, film a video for each track and somehow keep the production team behind the entire escapade from breathing a word to anyone.
Can we get a round of applause?
Color us impressed. Since this is Queen Bey, however, people have gotten their heads around the idea by now and music critics are just starting to recover from the shock and express some opinions on the album. Yes, the album is amazing… but is it any good?
We've been speculating whether or not Beyonce would be releasing a new album any time soon. Time to end that speculation
As the minutes were about to take us into Friday, 13 December, music fans across the globe were treated to an unexpected yet highly anticipated surprise. Just before midnight (EST) Beyonce released her all-new, fifth studio album on to iTunes, completely without warning.
Ready or not, Queen Bey is back!
The self-titled release, her first since 2011's 4, became available to download on Thursday night without any prior marketing or anouncements from the star of her PR. Despite winning acclaim and producing award-worthy releases, there were a number of notable absentees in the list of Grammy nominees for next year
The 2014 Grammy Awards will take place in January 2014, with the full list of nominees being revealed over the weekend. Jay-Z was the most capped nominee, with nine nods in total, whilst Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kendrick Lamar and Daft Punk were also among the list of potential winners, but there were a number of artists who were nowhere to be seen on the list of nominations.
After their shock win in 2011, Arcade Fire have been ignored this time
Despite their last album, The Suburbs, being a runaway success at the 2011 Grammy Awards, Arcade Fire are nowhere to be seen on next year's list. Their fourth album, Reflektor, was met with almost universal praise and some critics noted that it was an improvement form their latest release, but it seems as though the Grammy committee weren't as impressed as everyone else. The Canadian band don't even appear in the Best Alternative categories, however it is pleasing to see Tame Impala and Vampire Weekend among the nominees in this category, especially considering VW released one of the albums of the year with Modern Vampires of the City.

The track is lovingly dedicated to her daughter Blue Ivy
A day before its official release date, the latest single from Beyonce has found its way online to be listened to in full and is the latest in a long line of singles released this year by the singer, none of which have yet been given a home on an album yet. Titled 'God Made You Beautiful,' the song made its way on to YouTube on Sunday, 24 November, a day before the planned release date.
Beyonce has been touring extensively for the past few months
The lyrics video was uploaded by Queen Bey herself as a thank you to all her fans who pre-ordered her Life is But A Dream documentary and is the third song to be teased by the singer this year. Despite her relatively regular single releases, Mrs Carter has yet to release a follow-up to her 2011 album 4, nor has she revealed any plans surrounding her next solo album. In 2013, the singer released the single 'Grown Woman' to coincide with her Pepsi hook-up, and at a concert in Belgium recently, the singer performed 'Standing In The Sun' for the first time in full. Despite this, we're still no closer to another Beyonce album.

This time, the newly engaged star called out fashion chain Barneys for being racist
Kanye West took his Yeezus tour to Las Vegas last night (28 October), where he blasted US fashion chain Barney for suposed racism. Rather than being another typical Kanye rant about why he's a boss (or a God), there was actual substance and reasoning behind his latest slagging off.
Kanye saw red in Vegas
The New York City branch of the popular US chain hit headlines across America when two black customers were detained by cops after making a string of expensive purchases, an incident that has resulted in claims of racial profiling by the store. Although the heads of Barneys deny any counts of racism, there have been cries from the American public that black designers and workers who are employed by Barneys should leave the store high and dry as a sign of protest.

The self-appointed King of Hip Hop is taking down rappers as he pleases
Well this was always going to happen wasn’t it? Kendrick Lemar – or K.Dot as he was previously known – has been slowly swelling his stock until it exploded on the hip hop stock market when Good Kid, M.A.A.D City dropped. There was a notable spike when Section.80 hit, too.
Good Old Kendrick.
Now, riding on a wave of critical acclaim, Lemar feels confident to call out other rappers. He did it on a controversial verse in Control – most notably – and he did it again, less explicitly, at the BET awards. And it was aimed in Drake’s direction, apparently.

With Blue Ivy, the child of Beyonce and Jay Z, approaching 2-years-old, Jay Z has revealed that their relationship got off to a rocky start as Beyonce was "not impressed" when they first met.
Hip hop superstar Jay Z has revealed that when he first began dating Beyonce, he had to work incredibly hard as she was ''not impressed'' by him. The rapper, 43, found he had to go traditional with his wooing attempts for the 'Halo' singer when they began dating, confessing that in order to get close, he had to properly ''wine and dine'' her.
The couple both appeared on the 2001 Music Issue of 'Vanity Fair', and Jay Z commented that: ''We were just beginning to try to date each other. Well, you know, you've got to try first. You got to dazzle ... wine and dine.'' The couple have been together since, and now have a daughter - Blue Ivy - who is approaching two years old. Beyonce and Jay Z are still enjoying their successful careers since marrying secretly in 2008.

Once suffering from 'only child' syndrome, JT has plenty to be thankful for now.
It may come as something of a surprise, but as a child, Justin Timberlake wasn’t the charming, all-singing, all-dancing package he is now; no, indeed, he was quite shy. Up next for Timberlake is the second half of his album duo: ‘The 20/20 Experience: 2 Of 2’ and his new film, ‘Runner Runner’.
Timberlake's comeback has been emphatic
“Funnily enough,” he told Metro, “until I discovered the stage, I really was a pretty shy kid and didn’t talk a lot. I was an only child and I think I had only-child syndrome.”

Drake's third album released, we round-up the critical opinion.
Three albums in and Drake has firmly found his place within the rap world. Not only does his latest record, Nothing Was The Same, deliver a self-assured sound and confident lyrics but it also marks a turning point for the rapper as he looks back and muses upon his rise to fame.
Drake Delivers A Solid Third Effort.
The album's lead single 'Started From The Bottom' is the most obvious rags-to-riches tune. Suitably anthemic for radio, the rap delivers some incisive lyrics about fame and fortune and has also had a rather funny music video released alongside.
