Timberlake said he was inspired by Williams’ passionate speech, but many thought the singer was speaking out of turn.
Singer Justin Timberlake faced backlash on Twitter Sunday evening, after he tweeted his thoughts on the speech actor Jesse Williams’ gave when he collected his Humanitarian Award at the 2016 BET Awards. Timberlake tweeted, “@iJesseWilliams tho… #Inspired #BET2016”, after hearing the speech, but his words caused some to call the singer out for appropriating black culture throughout his career.
Justin Timberlake angered some on Twitter after he responded to Jesse Williams’ BET Awards’ speech.
After Timberlake’s tweet, user Ernest Owens, responded: "So does this mean you're going to stop appropriating our music and culture? And apologize to Janet too. #BETAwards.” Owens’ response referenced Timberlake's 2004 Super Bowl performance during which he accidentally flashed Janet Jackson’s breast.
The star postponed her 'Unbreakable' tour in April, announcing that she and her husband were "planning our family" - has she been successful already?
Just weeks after announcing that she’s postponing her latest European tour in order to start a family, multiple reports are suggesting that Janet Jackson is expecting her first child at the age of 49.
A number of media outlets, beginning with Entertainment Tonight, reported on Wednesday evening (May 4th) that the pop star is expecting a baby with her husband, 41 year old businessman Wissam Al Mana, less than two weeks shy of her 50th birthday as the result of successful treatment from a fertility specialist.

Janet Jackson has announced plans to ‘start a family’.

Jackson was due to begin the tour later this month.

The email read: “The event organisers have been in touch to let us know that, due to scheduling difficulties, they’ve had to postpone The ‘Unbreakable’ Tour at the following venues.” It then lists all the UK venues, before adding that they could not confirm new date at the present time, so full refunds were being given.

29 North American tour dates that Jackson had previously cancelled in order to recover from surgery have been re-arranged for July and August 2016.
Janet Jackson has reorganised a number of live concerts that she cancelled in order to recover from an unspecified surgery. The singer cancelled a handful of winter dates around North America last month, and these will now take place this summer.
Jackson had previously postponed a handful of gigs in October so that she could rest her vocal cords. She didn’t say whether this latest round of cancellations was related to the same complaint, but she did last week reassure fans that she wasn’t suffering from cancer.

The rapper is being sued after making an offensive gesture during the 2012 Super Bowl.
M.I.A has asked Madonna to help her pay the $16.6 (£10) million that the NFL are demanding in a lawsuit. The case has been brewing since the 2012 Super Bowl when the rapper made the offensive middle figure gesture during her performance with Madonna and Nicki Minaj. M.I.A, AKA Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam, made the unrehearsed gesture at the end of her verse during the group's rendition of 'Give Me All Your Luvin'.'
M.I.A Is Being Sued By NFL For Pulling A Rude Gesture During Her Performance.
"ummm ..... can i borrow 16 million ?" tweeted the singer after the American football league's arbitration claim ballooned from $1.5m (£935,000) to $16.6m (£10m). The new figure has been reportedly calculated using market rates by treating M.I.A's performance, which lasted about 2 minutes and 10 seconds, as if it was an advert, according to The Independent.

The entertainer has amassed a huge personal wealth over the years, but has she raised enough to call herself a billionaire?
Earlier this week it was revealed that Janet Jackson has managed to amass a personal fortune of $1 billion over the course of her career in the entertainment industry. The youngest of the Jackson siblings may be the richest of them all, but in actual fact the singer/actress/TV personality hasn't quite reached the $1 billion mark just yet.
The frenzy surrounding Jackson's massive wealth began when Variety published the story of how the singer is a "billion dollar entertainer," but story didn't actually say that she herself was a billionaire, and depending on how you calculate net-worth, Janet may have some way to go before she can join the illustrious billionaires club as a legitimate member. The Variety story never once mentions that Janet is herself a billionaire, nor does it feature any quotes taken from the youngest Jackson herself. Her career has been marked by appearances in some high grossing films and on television as well as the 35 No. 1 singles she has amassed and the 100 million + albums she has sold worldwide, but all this doesn't necessarily add up to her being a billionaire.
Janet has amassed a huge personal wealth over the years, but has she raised enough to call herself a billionaire?
Guess who just cracked the billion?
The phrases “Janet Jackson billionaire” is quite an unexpected one, but there you go. The youngest performing member of the Jackson clan has apparently reached the coveted eight-figure net worth. But wait, we’ve barely heard a peep from Jackson’s camp over the past five years, what happened? Well, apparently it was in fact her super successful albums and tours that got her through the doors. Think back. Way way back. Like the 90s. Albums like Control (1986), Janet (1993) and Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989), and mores, as well as $81 million off music and publishing fees is what landed Janet in the billionaire’s club this year. So they might be sales of dated merchandise, but cold hard cash has no use-by date after all. And, of course, there are the movie roles - her roles in The Nutty Professor, The Klumps, Poetic Justice and For Colored Girls has banked her a whopping $304 million.
Some smart business choices have landed Jackson among the richest of the rich.
Now Janet Jackson can freely commit to some philanthropy or something – it’s not like she really needs the funds, what with her husband being a billionaire in his own right. The singer/actress married retail entrepreneur Wissam Al Mana in a private ceremony last year. Jackson joins celebrities like George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey on the list. Not Madonna. We repeat, not Madonna.

Janet Jackson has revealed she married her billionaire boyfriend in a private ceremony last year.
Janet Jackson has quashed rumors about a forthcoming wedding to billionaire boyfriend Wissam Al Mana in perhaps the best way possible. She's already married, you see. Jackson, 46, the younger sister of the later Michael Jackson says she married businessman Wissam, 37, sometime last year but kept the news under wraps.
"The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true," Jackson and Al Mana said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight, "Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony. Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children's charities". The American singer is known for keeping her personal life intensely private, rarely speak about her ex-husbands during interviews. She married soul singer James DeBarge in 1984 though had the marriage annulled just a year later. In 1991, Janet married music video director Rene Elizondo - the man behind her video documentary Design of a Decade - though it ended in divorce in 2000.
We're sure Janet and Wissam will have a hugely happy life together, for no other reason than they're both incredibly rich. She's, well, Janet Jackson, while he runs his family's luxury fashion empire, representing brands such as Giorgio Armani, Hermes, Balenciaga and Roberto Cavalli among others. He also owns stakes in the Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Dubai, Bahrain and Kuwait and is opening the A/X Exchange in a Qatar shopping mall. His net worth is a cool $1 billion.
Michael Jackson's sister Janet Jackson married Wissam Al Mana last year
Janet Jackson married her partner Wissam Al Mana in an intimate ceremony last year, the singer has confirmed. Janet’s not one for flaunting her private life in the tabloids so there was a little confusion over whether or not Janet had married and rumours started flying around the internet suggesting that was planning to marry soon, in a lavish ceremony with 500 guests invited.
Deciding to put an end to those rumors, Janet made a surprise statement to ET Online, explaining that she and her new billionaire husband had actually tied the knot quietly last year. It’s a rare thing when a person as famous as Janet Jackson manages to get married without the press catching wind of the news, or an indiscreet wedding guest giving the game away, via Facebook or Twitter. So congratulations on your clandestine wedding, Janet! Possibly the one piece of Jackson family news that hasn’t done the tabloid rounds (although, you can’t expect it to keep it quiet, now that word has got out).
In her statement, Janet said “The rumours regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony.” In fact, the wedding was so low key that they even stayed away from traditional lavish wedding gifts and suchlike. “Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children’s charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy.” She ended the touching statement “With love, Wissam and Janet.” So there you have it: Janet Jackson, Married. Can we call her Mrs Al Mana now?

Janet Jackson - married in secret
Janet Jackson married her Qatari billionaire boyfriend last year without telling anybody. Rumours were surrounding the pop-singer, suggesting she was about to wed, but Jackson put things straight in a statement, according to Sky News.
"Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony," said the sister of the late Michael Jackson, giving no details as to where or when the nuptials took place. "The rumours regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true, the couple explained to Entertainment Weekly. “Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favourite children's charities." This is the third marriage for Jackson; She married soul singer James DeBarge in 1984, but their marriage was annulled just one year later. Her marriage to music video director Rene Elizondo lasted much longer – they married in 1991 and divorced 9 years later in 2000. Now that she’s married again, a source tells US weekly, the star wants to start a family with Wissam Al Mana, 37. She wants kids," said the source. "If she can't have them, she will adopt."

The Super Bowl half-time entertainment shows have slowly evolved into one of the biggest deals in the entertainment industry. Get it right, get richer (you’ll already be rich, if you’re performing at the Super Bowl, these days). Get it wrong? Suffer at least 12 months of ridicule and about a fortnight of humiliation every year subsequently, as people like us dig up lists like this to remind everyone of your shame.
A good Super Bowl Halftime Show can be life-affirming. Patriotism in its finest form; live music at its glitziest and its most extravagant. Here are five of the best:

Of the many trademark dance moves that the late megastar Michael Jackson showcased to the world - the Moonwalk, the Toe Stand, the Anti-Gravity Lean - the Crotch Grab has got to be the most frequently copied by popstars everywhere. The reason? It could be that M.J. was (and still is) the biggest music icon in the world and stars will always be trying to achieve status of his calibre, it could be that it is one of the easiest of his seminal moves to learn, or it could be that it has always been controversial, critically regarded as infamous and overtly sexual, and notoriety, as celebrities know, is a sure fire way to hit headlines.
Society has reached a stage where such trifles are rarely considered shocking anymore, so why do we still find ourselves recoiling at the sight of another star copying the famous move?

No one's ever thought of the Jackson's as being short of money, but Janet Jackson's $150m pile seems nothing short of paltry in contrast to her new fiancée's billions. Jackson and Wissam Al Mana are reportedly engaged now, so unless a pre-nup states otherwise, their respective fortunes will be combined.
According to US Weekly, Al Mana gave the singer a "huge, expensive ring" earlier in the year. And of course, because no expense need be spared, none will be, with the wedding expected to cost millions. He'll be flying in all her friends and family on private jets- and we all know how big that Jackson family is- so that no one has to miss out. Apparently, he'll also be employing "a top chef to create a custom menu."
Al Mana is the managing director or Al Mana retail which is heavily involved with A/XArmani Exchange as well as being a big stake holder in Saks Fifth Avenue, reports the Daily Mail. At the age of 37 he's almost ten years Jackson's junior, but according to a US Weekly source she's eager to start a family- but if she can't have children she'll adopt. Having been married twice before but having borne no children, it's likely that she'll be eager to have some little ones to help bear that Jackson/Al Mana legacyc.
So it is Beyonce's turn to lead out the fun and games at the famous Super Bowl half-time show. Quite frankly it's been a long time coming; one of the premiere pop stars of the past decade and more, the former Destiny's Child's star power has been calling out for her to get the spot at some point. However, let's not get ahead of ourselves and assume that just because she is who she is, she's going to deliver a stunning fifteen minutes. Plenty of big names have been known to fall; here are some of, what we reckon to be the worst half-time shows in Super Bowl history.
The fact that everyone was talking about M.I.A having the audacity to stick her finger up at television cameras tells you just how boring this half-time show actually was. A creaking Madonna did what she's ended up doing on most of her shows this year and sent her crowd into a stupor, with garish and brash visuals and costume not making up for an utter formulaic performance from the (former?) Queen of Pop. She should be thanking M.I.A for giving us a reason to remember it to be honest.
Oprah Winfrey has topped the first Forbes magazine Richest Women Entertainers List. The big business publication estimates the media mogul has made a staggering $1.5 billion in her career as a newscaster, talk show host, publisher and actress. Winfrey tops Harry Potter author Jk Rowling, who comes in second with a $1 billion fortune, while US lifestyle queen Martha Stewart rounds out the top three with $638 million (GBP327 million). Madonna ranks fourth on the new list, followed by Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Aniston.
The Klumps once again revisits the life of Sherman Klump, an overweight university science professor looking for love in all the wrong places. Sherman has just invented a new "youth drink" that enables man or beast to become younger for a short period of time. Janet Jackson is the love interest who chooses the lovable Sherman for a soul mate rather than excel at her career as a university professor (and for the most ridiculous reasons). With love on his mind, Sherman is determined to rid himself of his alter ego, Buddy Love from the first Professor, who still resides with vigor inside his psyche and causes Sherman to act like a bad imitation of Vince Vaughn from Swingers. With some convoluted mumbo-jumbo about DNA extraction, Sherman extracts the "Buddy Love" link in his DNA and smartly deposits Buddy into a handy-dandy lab beaker. But one night, the beaker is knocked over and Buddy Love is regenerated... because every movie like this needs an unnecessary villain to thwart the good guy.

While filming a stage performance in Germany, pop sensation Mariah Carey's dress opened, exposing herself to the audience.
German fans of pop star Mariah Carey were in for more than they bargained for when the singing sensation accidentally flashed fans. Carey suffered from an accidental "wardrobe malfunction" during filming for a German television show, when her dress fell apart, accidentally flashing her breasts at stunned fans, before being rescued by stage-hands.
While performing in Germany, Mariah Carey's dress fell open.
The star's experience was similar to that of Janet Jackson's infamous incident in 2004, which coined the phrase "wardrobe malfunction" in the first place. After briefly exposing herself, Carey was saved from further shame by the show's floor managers, who turned off the lights, allowing her to cover herself, recover her clothing, and leave the stage whilst hidden from view, according to a report from MTV news, who were present at the time.

How many times are we going to have to see some former stand-up comedian dressed in rubber fat lady suit, beating to death saggy boob jokes before people realize this kind of comedy just isn't funny enough to carry a movie?
Robin Williams walked the legs off this dog in "Mrs. Doubtfire." Just last month, Martin Lawrence force-fed the same quadriplegic mutt a meal of clodding libido and flatulence gags before dragging it around the block in "Big Momma's House."
Apparently now it's Eddie Murphy's turn, and with its bottom-scraping sex and body function humor, "Nutty Professor II: The Klumps" is the biggest dog of them all.
