With all the hype surrounding Fifty Shades of Grey (which is still ten months away from being released) you might be forgiven for thinking that’s all Jamie Dornan’s been up to for the past year. But you’re wrong. Alongside starring in TV drama 'New Worlds' the Irish actor is also heading to Cannes next month where his new movie Flying Home will premiere.

Dornan stars in Flying Home as a “a scheming investment banker who tries to win a Sheikh’s trust and business by buying him a champion racing pigeon from a Belgium pigeon fancier. When he meets the stubborn owner and his beautiful granddaughter, he begins to believe there’s more to life than the latest deal,” reports Variety. The film is directed by Belgian art house hero, Dominique Deruddere and is being distributed by Germany’s Media Luna.

The film’s official poster sees Dornan clad in a suit, which will surely delight those who already have him pegged as Christian Grey for life, holding a pigeon as feathers fly from the sky. Co-starring with Dornan is Charlotte De Bruyne as well as veteran Belgian actor Jan Decleir. Flying Home will get its premiere at Cannes on May 19th.

Currently Dornan can be seen in Channel 4’s miniseries 'New Worlds' which concludes on Tuesday night in the UK. As for Fifty Shades of Grey the most recent buzz has been that it might just be tamer than expected, based on footage shown at CinemaCon last month. It’s been reported that the film might put the focus more on the romantic than the erotic when it comes to taking E.L. James’ work to the big screen. The much anticipated film will be released on Valentines Day next year.
