James Bond blockbuster Skyfall is among the movies competing for the top prize at the Evening Standard British Film Awards next month (Feb13).

Daniel Craig's 007 adventure is nominated in the Film of the Year category, going up against independent movies Sightseers and Berberian Sound Studio.

Black comedy Sightseers has also earned a Best Actress nomination for Alice Lowe, who will take on Charlotte Rampling (I, Anna) and Andrea Riseborough (Shadow Dancer), while Berberian Sound Studio star Toby Jones will go up against Hollywood heavyweight Daniel Day-Lewis (Lincoln) and Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables) for Best Actor.

Sightseers director Ben Wheatley is also nominated for the Peter Sellers Award for Comedy, along with Chris O'Dowd for his performance in The Sapphires, and Seven Psychopaths writer/director Martin MCDonagh.

The trophies will be handed out during a ceremony at the London Film Museum in the British capital on 4 February (13).
