Gia Allemand, a former contestant on 'The Bachelor', has died today (14th August) after losing critical brain and organ function. It seems the 29-year-old attempted to commit suicide and was hospitalised as a result.

Allemand was found unconscious on Monday by her boyfriend NBA player Ryan Anderson. She was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. When the news broke on Tuesday, her representative released a statement saying Allemand was in a critical condition "following a serious medical event."

Gia Allemand - you may remember the name, or the face. She was a contestant on the season 14 of the bachelor - the reality show that sees a load of attractive women trying to win the hearts of one lucky guy.
According to a representative for the star, she is in critical condition following a serious emergency medical event - the details of which are currently unknown.
Allemand's mother is said to be with her, along with her long-time boyfriend, NBA basketball star Ryan Anderson. According to E! online, the family is asking for privacy at this time.
