Jaden Smith has been announced as the new face of Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2016 womenswear collection. The 17-year-old son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith has been photographed for the campaign alongside the brand’s female models, wearing a knee length skirt and white fringed top.

Announcing Jaden’s involvement in the campaign, the brand’s creative director Nicholas Ghesquier wrote: ’Happy to introduce Jaden Smith @christiaingrey in the new SS16 @louisvuitton ad campaign photographed by Bruce Weber,’ while sharing an image of the ad on Instagram.

The 17-year-old, who is also a singer and actor, is known for his fashion-forward, gender-fluid style, which regularly involves wearing skirts and dresses. Earlier this year he wrote on social media, ‘Went To TopShop To Buy Some Girl Clothes, I Mean “Clothes”’.

Speaking about his style to GQ magazine back in June, Jaden said: ‘I’m just expressing how I feel inside, which is really no particular way because everyday it changes how I feel about the world and myself, but I like wearing super drapey things so I can feel as though I’m a super hero, but don’t have to necessarily wear super hero costumes everyday.’

Louis Vuitton has also revealed that Lightning, a character from video game Final Fantasy was one of the major inspirations behind their Spring/Summer 2016 collection. In images posted to Instagram by Ghesquier, the pink-haired character could even be seen modelling clothing and accessories from the brand’s latest collection.
