After pleading guilty to drug charges in a Beijing court on Friday (Jan 9th), the Hollywood legend's son was sentenced to six months in prison and fined 2,000 yuan.
The son of Jackie Chan, Jaycee Chan, has finally been sentenced after he was charged for drugs offences by authorities in China following his arrest back in August 2014, where he was found to have a considerable amount of cannabis in his home.
The son of Jackie Chan was sentenced to six months in jail for drug offenses
After Jaycee, a 32-year-old actor and singer, pleaded guilty inside Beijing's Eastern District Court on Friday (Jan 9th), a judge sentenced him to six months in jail and fined the Hollywood star's son 2,000 yuan ($322).
Jaycee was formerly charged last month with "the crime of sheltering others to take drugs" after testing positive for marijuana, with local authorities confirming they found three-and-a-half ounces of the drug at his home.

The younger Chan initially faced the maximum sentencing of three years, but he is likely to be released within a month as the police are taking into account the time he spent incarcerated since last August, according to Reuters.
"I have violated the law and I should be punished," Chan said at the sentencing. "After I return to the society, I will definitely not make a mistake again because I have made my family and friends disappointed for one more time. I have gotten the punished I deserve, but it doesn't mean I have been forgiven. I hope I can use my actions in the future to get the forgiveness and to pass positive energy."
Although Jackie wasn't at the trial, he is also faced with humiliation as he has campaigned against drugs for years, and five years ago the 'Rush Hour' actor even signed on to be a 'Narcotics Control Ambassador' of the Chinese police.

Jaycee's arrest was in the midst of China undergoing a huge crackdown on high-profile celebrities using drugs, and with over ten celebrity arrests made in the last six months, 42 entertainment agencies signed an anti-drug agreement, meaning they will not hire any actors or singers caught using narcotics.
