Fact: This spring's (Apr15) Coachella shattered its own record as the world’s highest-grossing festival. The two-weekend event, which featured performances from AC DC, Jack White and Drake, grossed a massive $84.2 million (£56.1 million) from a total of 198,000 tickets sold. Last year (14), Coachella grossed $78.3 million (£52.2 million), with attendance topping 193,000 for the two weekends, according to Boxscore.

Fact: Jack White reunited with his The Raconteurs bandmates at his gig in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday night (28Jan15). He surprised the audience by bringing out Jack Lawrence, Brendan Benson and Jack Keeler for a rendition of their 2006 hit Steady As She Goes. The band has been on hiatus since 2011. White also invited country music star Loretta Lynn to the stage to perform their duet Portland, Oregon.

Fact: Jack White and 50 Cent are to be featured on a new set of Topps baseball cards. The new 'first pitch' collection will also feature Biz Markie, Jeff Bridges, Tom Morello and MACklemore, among others who threw out the ceremonial first pitch before baseball games last year (14) and got attention for it. Rapper 50 Cent won't want to be reminded of the pitch he hurled at Citi Field in New York in May (14) - he was ridiculed after throwing what many pundits called "the worst first pitch ever" before the New York Mets home game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Fact: A tribute gig for late keyboardist Isaiah 'ikey' Owens will be held in Austin, Texas on Monday (01Dec14). The former Mars Volta instrumentalist passed away after suffering a heart attack in October (14) while on tour with Jack White. Local musicians will perform at the free concert, called Songs In The Key Of Ikey Owens.

Fact: Rocker Jack White returned to his native Detroit, Michigan on Tuesday (29Jul14) for a bizarre baseball moment before the home town Tigers' clash with the Chicago White Sox at Comerica Park. The former White Stripes star threw out the ceremonial first pitch to a catcher dressed up as Santa Claus. The rocker was also joined on the field by Detroit's tiger mascot, who was also dressed up as Father Christmas. No reason was given for the oddball baseball stunt.

Fact: Rocker Jack White has set a new record for the world's fastest released single. The songwriter took the stage at his Third Man Studio in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday (19Apr14) as part of Record Store Day to record a track directly to vinyl at 10am. The single, featuring new song Lazaretto and a B-side cover of Elvis Presley's Power of My Love, was then rushed to a pressing plant, and copies were available for purchase a little less than four hours later.
