Prison-bound rapper Ja Rule will release his new album the day before he has to surrender to authorities and begin a two-year sentence behind bars.
The Always On Time star, real name Jeffrey Atkins, was handed the punishment after pleading guilty to attempted weapons possession in December (10), stemming from his 2007 arrest in New York.
He will begin his prison stint on 8 June (11), but not before Ja Rule delivers a farewell present to fans - his upcoming disc, Renaissance Project, will hit music retailers on 7 June (11).
