Fact: Oscar winner J.K. Simmons has penned the foreword for pal David Cry's new memoir A Short Walk Home: With Love All Things Are Possible. The book chronicles the author's experience with neurological disorder adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), which claimed the life of his young stepson. Simmons describes the autobiography, which was released this week (begs29Jun15), as a "heartbreaking but uplifting" story of love and loss.

Fact: Actors Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons have exited the upcoming KING KONG reboot due to scheduling conflicts. Production on Kong: Skull Island is expected to begin later this year (15) and producers are now looking to replace the actors, who were both up for acting Oscars this year, without delaying production, according to Deadline.com. Tom Hiddleston will star in the movie, which is set to hit theatres in 2017.

Fact: J.K. Simmons reprised his nasty WHIPLASH jazz orchestra coach for the MTV Movie Awards telecast on Sunday night (12Apr15) by mentoring host Amy Schumer as she prepared to take the stage at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The actor hurled abuse, a plate and a salad platter at the comedienne as she 'auditioned' for him, and raged, "You call yourself a host? You are nothing, you vile, revolting, rancid tramp stamp." The original role won Simmons an Oscar. Schumer's pre-ceremony preparations also included a guest spot from Elizabeth Banks - as her The Hunger Games character Effie Trinket.
