Wolfgang Puck Leonardo Dicaprio

We have a serious Homer Simpson drool going on just hearing about all of the delicious delicacies that will be served to the stars at the Oscars after-party. The star-studded awards show will be packed with Hollywood royalty, with attendees including Christian Bale, Leonardo Dicaprio, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep...the list goes on. It’s a veritable cornucopia of acting’s finest at this year’s awards, so no wonder that every year they hire only the best to design the food menu.

This year’s Governor’s Ball will mark Wolfgang Puck’s 20th anniversary catering the event. It would be an honour to be invited back to cater the event more than once, let alone for 20 consecutive years, so you know that Puck is a total pro at knowing how to bring it on the night.

Chocolate Oscars? Spicy Tuna Cones? It Could Only Be The Governor's Ball

The 85th Academy Awards is almost upon us, which means, the latest Governor's Ball is also on the horizon. In his fourth year as chair of the ball, Jeffrey Kurland introduced a "sneak preview" of the post-awards foodie event at the Ray Dolby Ballroom on Tuesday (January 22, 2013). The official Oscars after-party, held each year in the grand ballroom at the Hollywood & Highland Center, is invariably packed full with the biggest names in show business eating from one of the most unusual menus of the year.

Event producer Cheryl Cecchetto told Variety that the layout will once again encourage socializing and "ease of flow", rather than the formal seated setup of yesteryear. Food will be provided by legendary chef Wolfgang Puck and Matt Bencivenga, who will offer, "elaborate small plates and bite-sized passed hors d'oeuvres." An 18,000 LED light chandelier will hover above the elegant room while 423 pieces of custom-made lounge-style furniture will be fabricated for the event from high-backed banquettes covered in velvet.

So, what's on the menu?

Drew Barrymore Takes Daughter Olive To E.T. Era Pizza Place

Drew Barrymore Wolfgang Puck

Drew Barrymore was reliving her childhood this week, by taking baby daughter Olive to a pizza place she used to frequent as a child star. In one of only a handful of post-birth sightings of the actress, she and husband Will Kopelman hit Los Angeles' Spago restaurant for lunch.

So she went for a slice of pizza with her family, big deal, we hear you thinking.  True enough, though Spago holds a little piece of Barrymore history. "She's been coming in since the 'E.T.' days with her mom, for Wolfgang's pizza," a source told the Los Angeles Times of Barrymore's love for the signature dish. The happy couple reportedly shared photos of their new daughter when chef Wolfgang Puck visited their table. Though pizza might be in the Barrymore family fabric, it was another guilty pleasure that Drew gorged on during her pregnancy. "I loved cheeseburgers," she told People magazine of her cravings. "I wanted nothing to do with vegetables."

The actress has a pretty comfortable life ahead, what with her motherhood, production company Flower Films and beauty collaboration with Wal-Mart, though she insists she can't wait for young Olive to grow up. "I can't wait to pick her up from school - just being in the line of cars when she gets out. I want her to live a life where she knows we will be there. That is everything to me. That is what I wanted most when I was a kid, and it's what my kid will have."

Katy Perry, Jennifer Hudson And Stevie Wonder Among The Stars At Barack Obama's Democrat Fundraising Concert

Katy Perry, Jennifer Hudson and Stevie Wonder were among the star names to perform at a fundraiser for President Barack Obama's democrats at a concert titled '30 Days To Victory.' With additional appearances by Earth, Wind And Fire as well as Jon Bon Jovi and George Clooney, Obama was pulling all the stops out to regain ground following his listless performance in the debate last week against his presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

However, Obama was more than willing to admit he didn't meet expectations during last week's discussion; taking to the Nokia Theater in California, the Prez joked "Everybody here is incredible professionals, they're such great friends and they just perform flawlessly night after night. I can't always say the same." Obama also pointed out that the road to the 2008 election wasn't easy either, saying, "everybody always remembers the victory, but they don't always remember the bumps in the road. Things always look good in retrospect. But in the middle of it we made all kinds of mistakes. We goofed up. I goofed up. But the American people carried us forward."

There were nearly 6,000 people in attendance for the concert, with tickets going at a cool $250 each. Obama also appeared at a private dinner for just 150 guests at celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck's restaurant WP24; tickets for that were somewhat more expensive at $25,000 a pop.
