Live At Leeds 2015 Preview

It's nearly that time again! More stellar acts will again flock to the spectacular Northern city of Leeds for a day of non-stop musical exhilaration. Plus, Live At Leeds 2015 will play host to some stunning new venues, and what better time to experience them?

Live At Leeds 2015 Preview

Without further ado, then, we present to you your must-see schedule for Saturday (May 2nd 2015). It's been tricky to work out this year, however, as every year each line-up gets better and better and this year is honestly no exception. So there may be a few overlaps, but you certainly won't be bored.

The Riptide Movement - Oporto - 12:00
Getting the day off to a low key start is The Riptide Movement at the small but very quaint Oporto bar. The only problem here is that a set from these Dubliners is bound to leave you singing along for the rest of the day ('All Works Out', for example), but it will at least get you geared up for their upcoming debut album 'Getting Through' released on June 1st, which has already been critically acclaimed in Ireland.

First up, the Parish is hosting some seminal shows all week, so this should definitely be at the top of your schedule. Wednesday, March 18th sees alt rock Londoners Wolf Alice on the bill, impressing with material from their EP releases; though we are yet to see an album release from these four. Equally, LA newcomers BØRNS are not to be missed, nor are San Diego indie favourites Delta Spirit. Thursday sees The Vaccines promote their upcoming album 'English Graffiti', alongside Palma Violets with 'Danger In The Club', while New York's Lolawolf brings their brand of sensational disco pop to the scene. Friday will be headlined by the Jarman brothers' band The Cribs, and Saturday will see appropriate surf-rock from Florida four-piece Surfer Blood.

Dry the River, Norwich Arts Centre, 12th May 2012 Live Review

When a quintet of men with unkempt hair and conspicuous tattoos appear on stage, you have to admit that the last thing you'd expect to subsequently witness is a heart-wrenching rendition of indie folk encompassing truly beautiful lyrics. Yet, this was the scene tonight as Dry the River played at the Norwich Arts Centre and it made for one of the most captivating live performances I have seen in a long while.

Dry The River, Shallow Bed Album Review

Listen up everyone, this year's Mumford equivalent have made themselves known. Okay, okay that might not be an entirely correct statement, but it makes sense, on a par with the many other inter-band references that have naturally sprung up to begin 2012. Dry The River haven't been under this 'hype' bracket for nothing. 'Hype' being the forever clichéd word that never seems to panic the band, only the fearing gaggle of fans that intend to call the band their 'own' for as long as they can. The London five-piece have been around for a while, perfecting this debut seeming to top their list of priorities, obviously all paying off when they were nominated for BBC's Sound of 2012 and finishing this very awaited offering.
