The couple announce their first pregnancy just weeks after celebrating second wedding anniversary.
Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder are thrilled to finally announce that they are expecting a new addition to their family; their first child. They have tried to keep the news a secret for as long as possible, but now they are desperate for the world to share their happiness.

The 28-year-old 'Twilight' star opened up about the news on Instagram yesterday (May 4th 2017) with an adorable photograph of herself in a long blue gown, looking down with a smile on her face as Ian kisses her burgeoning baby bump against a glorious outdoor backdrop.

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed took a ski trip, proving they can be nauseatingly adorable all year round.
So apparently Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are a thing now. How do we know they’re a thing? Well, they’re currently taking a ski vacation together on the slopes of Idaho. It’s kind of a perfect match really – two actors, who played ice cold bloodsuckers, vacationing together in ice cold weather – we couldn’t think of a better match.
Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder are cute all year round, apparently. In any weather.
Reed’s brother posted a video of Somerhalder somersaulting – well, it wasn’t an actual somersault, but the wordplay was just too irresistible. Meanwhile, Reed’s victory dance might be the most adorable thing ever.
Another couple loving it up at SDCC. What else is new?
Apparently Comic-Con is one giant love fest this year, with Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed reportedly joining the couples list at the con. The actors were spotted together on several occasions over the weekend, but according to E! News, they hung out a lot at Comic-Con.
Is Ian Somerhalder is sticking to the vampire theme.
Both are newly single, as far as tabloid reports go. Somerhalder had a widely reported break-up with Nina Dobrev in 2013, while Reed split from her husband, American Idol alum Paul McDonald in March, 2014. So the timing seems right. Maybe it was their shared appreciation of vampires that sparked the connection?

In 2009, The Vampire Diaries launched on the CW as what looked like a Twilight clone in series form. Based on L. J. Smith's young-adult novels, the series centers on a teenage girl, who catches the attention of two vampires and subsequently has to navigate the complexities of love, family ties, death and the supernatural. At first glance, it sounds very Twilight-ish, especially considering that the series was launched slap bang in the middle of vampire mania. Last night marked the show's 100th episode with a loyal audience and a seasoned cast of stars.
Even the show's stars never anticipated such a lasting success.
Season 5 ratings average 3.5 million viewers per episode, but that doesn’t account for TVD’s strong social media presence. With nearly 18 million Facebook fans and 420,000 Twitter followers (more than 17 million if you count the cast's and producers' followers), it ranks as the fourth most socially active production on TV, after American Idol, The Voice and The X Factor, according to Trendrr, and it's seen in more than 180 countries. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the TVD cast and crew talked about the show’s lasting success. Apparently, the road from page to screen was long and filled with hurdles.

As we swing into awards season, the drama heightens: 'Gravity' is top dog, Steve McQueen won't stoop to hecklers and Meryl Streep knows how to make a good speech.
People's Choice Selects Victors: This week saw the annual People's Choice awards handed out and what an evening it was. Hosted by the stellar Two Broke Girls' Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings, the audience were kept laughing whilst a slew of gongs were distributed to the year's finest figures in popular culture. Sandra Bullock emerged as the star of the evening after she won four awards for her roles in Gravity and The Heat, not including the overall film win for the space thriller. Check out all the winners here.
The evening also brought tears, drama and scandal as former Vampire Diaries couple Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder hinted during their acceptance speech that things are still very amicable between them whilst singer/actress Jennifer Hudson welled up with emotion when she was honoured with a 'favorite humanitarian award.' Read up on the glam evening's highlights here.
The mechanics of The Vampire Diaries might be super complex, but at least the chemistry works.
The Nina Dobrev/Ian Somerhalder situation is strange and complicated – they know it, the tabloids know it and the audience at the People’s Choice awards on Thursday also knew it. When the former couple walked out on stage to accept their award for Best Chemistry, it could have been very awkward. Luckily, Dobrev and Somerhalder were cool about their history and had no problem addressing the very large elephant in the room.
Dobrev and Somerhalder won for Best Chemistry.
Speculation is rife as to who will step into the role of Christian Grey; who are the bookies favouring?
As soon as Charlie Hunnam announced his departure from the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie, the internet began to buzz with rumours about why the actor had decided to call it quits and who would replace him in the lead role of kinky billionaire, Christian Grey.
Charlie Hunnam Quits '50 Shades' Due To His Busy Schedule.
The movie will adapt author EL James hugely successful erotic fiction trilogy with Hunnam originally signed up for the role of Grey, whilst The Social Network star Dakota Johnson has been cast as Anastasia Steele. The Sons of Anarchy star reportedly dropped out of the movie, expected in August 2014, due to his already "immersive TV schedule," according to a statement from the studios behind the film, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

Does Charlie Hunnam's exit open the door for Matt Bomer?
Matt Bomer had probably the best weekend of his young life after The Hollywood Reporter dropped the news that Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam had gotten cold feet and would no longer be starring in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
Charlie Hunnam On The Set Of 'Sons of Anarchy'
"The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule, which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey," Universal Pictures said in a statement. THR claimed the actor was "overwhelmed" with the attention he received since the casting announcement and decided to drop out.
Conflicting reports give a variety of ideas as to why the Brit actor dropped out of the erotica project
After things were looking so promising and as though they were finally ready to get off the ground, the Fifty Shades of Grey movie has hit yet another stumbling block. Charlie Hunnam, the man signed on for the lead role as Christian Grey, has officially dropped out of the project, leaving the film's makers with the task of finding yet another Grey.
Citing an "immersive" schedule ahead of him as the reason he dropped out of the project, his own excuse has since been followed by others claiming he had ulterior motives to leave the book adaptation behind. When his decision to leave the project was made clear on Saturday, 12 October, through a statement from Universal, it cited "Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule," as the sole reason for his exit, "which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey."
However, since then there have been other explanations as to why Hunnam chose to drop out of the project. According to E! News, the role of Christian Grey would bring with it more and more media attention and Hunnam was already becoming overwhelmed with the attention the role brought him. It isn't the role of the S&M-obsessed Grey that has put him off of the role, just the constant media and fan frenzy that surrounds it and for this reason he chose to give up the coveted role. The attention and the pressure was intense," the source explained.

As Hollywood rolls into awards' season, the head honchos at Universal Pictures and Focus Features are probably busy plotting for 2013 having landed the rights to the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. Warner Bros, Sony Pictures, Paramount and Mark Wahlberg's company all placed bids for the rights in one of fiercest movie bidding wars of recent times. Despite the general critical mauling of E.L. James book (though massive sales figures), the movie boasts a pretty impressive team. The Social Network producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti have signed on while Terra Nova's Kelly Marcel will pen the script.
But that's all the boring stuff. We want to know who's playing Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele right? Murmurings around Hollywood suggest Ryan Gosling is pretty much everyone's first choice to play the wealthy protagonist. Universal want Gosling, the producers want Gosling, the fans want Gosling, hell, Gosling probably wants the role himself. Irish bookmaker Paddy Power have the Drive actor as 2/1 favourite, though one man threw a pretty giant spanner into the works this week. He's the third favourite with the bookmaker, he plays Superman in the forthcoming movie Man of Steel. He is Henry Cavill.
The 29-year-old British actor - who screen-tested for the role of James Bond before Daniel Craig got the part - discussed Fifty Shades of Grey during a recent interview with Details magazine. When quizzed as to whether he would take the role, Cavill gave a curious answer. Whereas Gosling, Ian Somerhalder and Michael Fassbender have coyly laughed off suggestions of becoming Mr Grey, Cavill said, "Whether that happens, that decision will be made at the time it has to be made. It would be a very different kind of thing than Man of Steel." The interviewer observed that Cavill spoke in "the measured tones of someone who knows his way around a Hollywood gag order."

It's a shame, too, because computer-centric horror is usually a good bet for ridiculousness. Here, the computer stuff isn't detailed enough to really bug the geeks; they'll be too busy pointing out how the movie's screenplay could be improved, and how Kristen Bell takes one of the most disappointing baths in horror history.

Like an episode of MTV's barely-legal late-night dorm life soap "Undressed," with 20 times the creativity but without any more substance, "The Rules of Attraction" is a stylish, glib, endemically energetic diversion that's indulgently entertaining but could have and should have been deeper.
Enthusiastically adapted by Roger Avery (co-writer of "Pulp Fiction" and writer-director of "Killing Zoe") from the whimsically subversive novel by Bret Easton Ellis, it's a black comedy about the feral underbelly of modern campus life, full of cinematic invention but narrative superficiality.
Populated by teen-TV lightweight types trying to gain edgy credibility, "Rules" stars James Van Der Beek ("Dawson's Creek") in the movie's most resonant performance as antihero Sean Bateman, a deviant college cool-jerk -- who, for the trivia-minded, is the younger brother of the title character in Ellis's "American Psycho."
