Hugh Laurie is ready to retire from starring on the small screen when his hit show House ends, insisting he wants to concentrate on writing and producing.
The Brit has won huge acclaim for his role as grumpy doctor Gregory House on the U.S. drama, which is currently on its eighth season.
The show has made Laurie one of the richest actors on American TV, reportedly pulling in $250,000 (£156,000)-per-episode.
But the star is adamant he's been lucky to have one run of major success on the small screen, and will head behind the TV cameras once House comes to a close.
He tells Britain's Daily Record, "I think I have been rather spoiled here (in America). I can't imagine there will be another one quite like this.
"I think I will probably be as interested by either writing or producing or directing, or some other aspect. I find the whole field of it fascinating.
"And I think I am extremely lucky to have had the one shot that I have had at it and I wouldn't go looking for lightning to strike twice."
