Hugh Laurie is planning to celebrate the end of his hit medical drama House by touring the Mississippi Delta.
A big fan of the rhythm and blues that the area is famous for, the actor recently tasted chart success with his homage to the sounds of the South, Let Them Talk.
And now he's collecting maps and guidebooks so he can plan the ultimate musical pilgrimage.
He tells Spinner.com, "That is my absolute goal once House is finally laid to rest. I've got shelves of books about touring the Delta. I've got it all mapped out, and I'm ready. It's a very serious plan in my life, and I'm definitely going to take this trip."
Laurie has already had a taste of the tour after cycling around New Orleans while filming a TV special with Dr. John and Tom Jones.
He says, "It was a big moment going to New Orleans... and that trip felt like an odyssey of sorts, so I can only imagine what it will be like to really explore the area. I must get there. There have just got to be so many stories to be told and heard."
