Helen Flanagan has announced that she’ll be returning to ‘Coronation Street’ to reprise her character, Rosie Webster, after nearly five years away from the soap.

The 26 year old English actress will be coming back to the cobbles after half a decade, where she’ll be bringing back her mischievous character Rosie. Having departed the soap in 2012, Flanagan will appear once again in February 2017, where she’ll remain until later in the spring.

Flanagan first starred in ‘Coronation Street’ at the age of nine, and was an ever-present throughout her teens until 2012, when reports emerged that she suffered regularly from panic attacks on set.

One of the more memorable characters, who once seduced her teacher, got kidnapped and became a topless model in just a selection of plotlines, Rosie Webster was eventually written out of the ITV soap, leaving Weatherfield to take part in a reality TV show.

In a statement, Flanagan said: “I'm so excited to be returning to ‘Coronation Street’ and being part of the Webster family again.”

Having left the long-running soap, Flanagan starred in a number of reality TV shows including ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ and ‘Celebrity Super Spa’.

She has also become a first-time mother, giving birth to a daughter named Matilda in June 2015, whom she shares with professional footballer Scott Sinclair, her long-term partner.

‘Coronation Street’ producer Kate Oates said: “The Websters have missed Rosie and so have we. With Sophie away on holiday with her sister it seemed like the ideal time to bring Rosie back home with her for a visit. We are delighted that Helen is as keen explore what Rosie has been up to away from the cobbles as we are.”
