Speaking in his interview with Chelsea Handler for Another Man magazine, Styles said he could never rule out a 1D reunion.
In his first interview as a solo artist, former One Direction singer Harry Styles has spoken about the possibility of an eventual reunion of the group.
The 22 year old English star, who is poised to reveal details of an upcoming solo career, spoke to the Autumn/Winter edition of Another Man magazine this week – revealing a number of intriguing new hairstyles in the process during the covershoot, which he unveiled a few days before.
Speaking to US talk show host Chelsea Handler, who conducted the interview alongside Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney, Styles addressed the persistent questions about when 1D’s hiatus would be coming to an end.
“I don't know. When we started people always asked 'where do you think you’ll be in five years?' People always ask, right? It's a difficult question to answer. I would never say we'll never do anything again but it's good for us to be exploring different things. Maybe at some point everyone will want to do something again but it is better if it happens naturally.”
What he said next was rather more encouraging for 1D fans pining for new material from the band. “It's the most important, greatest thing that ever happened to me, being in that band. It completely changed my life.”

Styles was also asked about the recent start of his acting career. Over the summer, photos emerged from the set of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming World War II epic Dunkirk, in which Styles has a role of an undefined level of importance – i.e. we don’t know whether it’s a speaking part or not.
“I was nervous but it's going good I think. I did acting at school. It's something I've always wanted to explore but I was busy with the band so I never felt like I had time to do it the right way. When we took some time off, I thought I'd see if it might work. It's a challenge, but it feels good to be out of my comfort zone.”
Lastly, Handler asked the photogenic singer whether he was thinking about settling down and having a family in the future. Currently rumoured to be dating Kendall Jenner and having romanced the likes of Taylor Swift and Caroline Flack, the enthusiasm of his answer was somewhat surprising.
“I can't wait for a time when that's a thing for me, I look forward to that in my life.”
