Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is bringing her beloved books to the stage - the writer is set to co-produce a stage show of the series in London's West End.
After selling more than 400 million copies of the seven-part book series worldwide and inspiring eight blockbuster film adaptations of the popular novels, Rowling is bringing the magic back in a new stage play.
The writer, along with prominent theatre producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender, are collaborating on a production which will tell the "previously untold story of Harry Potter's early years as an orphan and outcast," according to the U.K.'s Daily Mail.
Rowling praises the duo for the unique new take on Potter, telling the publication, "(Friedman and Callender's) pitch was the only one that really made sense to me, and which had the sensitivity, intensity and intimacy I thought appropriate for bringing Harry's story to the stage. After a year in gestation, it is very exciting to see this project moving onto the next phase."
The team is hoping the show will be ready to hit the London stage in 2015.
