Gwyneth Paltrow has advised women to pee in the shower and have lots more sex in a bid to strengthen their pelvic floor.
Gwyneth Paltrow has advised women to pee in the shower.
The 'Mortdecai' actress has offered up bizarre advice on her lifestyle website Goop to women hoping to strengthen their pelvic floor muscles following childbirth, with the star suggesting squatting while urinating is the perfect way to do so.
The piece reads: ''Try peeing in the shower squatting down. When you squat to pee as opposed to sitting up straight on the toilet, you automatically engage your pelvic floor and it naturally stretches and tones.''
The 42-year-old star - who has daughter Apple, 11, and Moses, nine, from her former relationship with Coldplay's Chris Martin - also proposed having more sex, insisting it improves the area as well as providing something ''your partner will love''.
The article added: ''Having sex is not only fun, but it's great for your body, mind, spirit, and pelvic floor - and it helps you exist in the moment. Sex chemically elevates mood and reduces depression, and orgasms trigger a rush of endorphins and human growth hormones, while also reducing cortisol levels. Practice squeezes and letting go...your partner will love it!''
The post is not the first strange piece to be published on the website, having previously advocated the use of 'vagina schemes' and offered recipes on cooking using ''sex dust''.
