Well this is a piece of news noone was expecting… Taylor Swift, another pop star at the height of her career, has joined Season 7 of The Voice as an advisor. As the title suggests, Swift will advise the Voice hopefuls across all four teams. The announcement comes via Us Weekly, who also note that Taylor will be taking over the role from Season 6 advisor Chris Martin.

Raise your hand, if you weren't expecting this move from Taylor Swift.

Apparently, Swift has already made her valuable contribution to the season, with a source for Us saying: “Taylor was an absolute pleasure to work with. She had great feedback for all the contestants. She made for an amazing mentor.”

Stevie Nicks is all set to join The Voice, taking on an advisory role to Adam Levine's team. The 66 year-old Fleetwood Mac singer is the first advisor to be announced for the new series with the network planning to announce the other advisors soon.

Filming Is currently underway for the show's upcoming seventh season. Nicks has been working with coach Levine and his 12 team members as they assign songs and rehearse with the contestants in preparation for the show's battle rounds, according to the AP.

Levine and Blake Shelton will be joined by Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams as coaches when the NBC show returns.

Jay Z, No Doubt and Tiësto have been announced as the main acts to perform at this year's Global Citizen Festival in New York. The annual charity event, which will take place on September 27th on the Great Lawn in New York's Central Park, aims to cater for all musical tastes whilst raising awareness of key world issues.

54-year-old Jurassic Park actor and acting coach Cameron Thor has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl he had been giving acting classes. Thor has been accused of sexually assaulting the girl over the period of a year, apparently taking her to a secluded area. He has been charged on 11 counts, including rape, sexual penetration, robbery and kidnap, according to the Daily Mail.

The LAPD arrested the acting coach, whose bail was posted at $2.6 million. The girl had apparently approached him for acting classes in 2008. He had taught the girl between April 2008 and March 2009 at the coaching school he runs with his partner Alice Carter. The website for the acting school has since been taken down.

No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani is reportedly about to become latest addition to ‘The Voice's’ judging pannel, replacing the pregnant Christina Aguilera. The NBC show, which has already added Pharrell Williams to its season 7 lineup, is said to have signed Stefani for one season to fill in for the expectant Aguliera.

The deal is said to be only for one season as Aguilera has decided to bow out as she is pregnant with her second child, due later this year with fiancee. We never would have pegged Gwen Stefani as the reality talent panelist type, but apparently, money talks and former 90s punk talent listens. Stefani is reportedly in talks to replace fellow blonde pop star Christina Aguilera. Reports are unclear on whether the deal has been made final, but according to “official sources” for TMZ, Stefani has already signed on for next season. Season 7 starts taping in June.

After four seasons on the show, Aguilera is taking a break to have her second child.

Christina Aguilera announced her exit from the show back in February, along with her pregnancy. It makes sense for the big-voiced singer to take a season of maternity leave, of course, given that she will be eight or nine months pregnant by the time the battle rounds begin. According to TMZ, NBC wanted Christina to stay during her pregnancy but she's having a difficult time already and ultimately bowed out.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are adding to their brood, with the two musicians announcing the impending birth of their third child. The No Doubt star confirmed the news on her newly launched Instagram account, captioning a picture of herself wearing a crown with: "I was ready to hand over the crown. but I guess I am still queen of the house. #itsaboy #surroundedbyboys.”

The news comes on the back of growing speculation surrounding the singer's uterus, as Gwen had been spotted on various occasions of late with what looked like a burgeoning baby bump. Reports first began to emerge in September last year that the two were expecting their third child and these reports reemerged after Christmas. Stefani was spotted visiting friends in Beverley Hills, with what looked like a clear baby bump or the sign of way too much turkey on 26 December and was spotted again in Beverley Hills with her belly sticking out days later, however the singer and her husband remained quiet as to whether there was another baby on the way.

The Purple One has contributed to at least one of the tracks on the follow-up to 2012 No. 1 album Ora, although she remained coy over just how much they have worked on together. She told the paper, "I have met him and I have had the honour of being in the same studio as him. We messed around with some music and you know, I can't believe he can play so many instruments. All I can say is that we've definitely done some music together."

US singer Kesha, AKA Ke$ha, has been told she will not be welcome to perform in Malaysia, leading to her scheduled Saturday show in Kuala Lumpur cancelled. The ban results from the Malaysian authority's fears that Kesha's show, which is known for being raunchy, will offend "religious and cultural sensitivities," according to BBC News.

Gwen Stefani is a talented lady. A great singer, fantastic performer, fashion designer, business woman, devoted mother and wife, she has managed, with success, to be one of those lucky women who 'has it all'. But 'having it all', paradoxically, doesn't come for free, and talking to Vogue, she (along with the rest of No Doubt) tells them about the hard work and elements of sacrifice it all takes.

"She thinks she's failing at everything," said her ex-boyfriend, Tony Kanal. "It's hard to manage that many things: She's got the band, her family, her husband, her clothing lines...I think when she looks back on it, she'll see she did incredibly well." 

In a world of rock music, where Gwen's constantly surrounded by men, Kanal and the band have noted the difference in their genders, by saying how different it is for her to be touring while being a mother, as opposed to a father, and Gwen has also felt that difference over the years. "There have been some times where I have felt that really sh*tty feeling of being like, Gosh, do the men in this world even think that I'm on their level?"

In this month's Marie Claire, Gwen Stefani graces the cover, looking demure, elegant, grown up. She's never been particularly good at giving herself a break, going straight from working with No Doubt, full pelt into her solo career, then combining that with a short acting career. And then she began working as a designed for her clothing company L.A.M.B, and then, adding to those, she's a mother and wife. Anyway, now she's decided enough is enough and in an interview with Marie Claire has revealed how she's managed to free up some of her precious time.

"I was swimming upstream, trying to balance everything that's been going on with having kids and a family. There's no way to do all these things." She said, "I would be up all night because my second baby didn't sleep, and he had a lot of ear infections. Then I'd wake up in the morning and do my workout, which I always felt I had to do, and then meetings for my three clothing lines, and then hang out with my kids, take them to preschool - da, da, da... 'At four o'clock, I'd be like, 'Alright, I'm out of here. I'm going to go to the studio and try to write a record.' I'd sit on the couch [with my band mates] and be like, 'Let's do this now, because I'm missing time with the kids. I could be having dinner with them and putting them to bed.' It was really hard."

After exhausting and infuriating herself, finally she came up with a solution: "This past year, I kind of stopped working out. I think my body just needed a break. And so I did that and focused more on feeling good as opposed to beating myself up. [Plus,]I've learned to delegate [in L.A.M.B.]. It still looks awesome, but did I pick the buttons? No, I didn't. I missed two fashion weeks because they were when school started. I can't miss the first week of kindergarten."

No Doubt's latest single 'Looking Hot' has well and truly bombed, having sold just 680 copies in its first week of release in the UK. The second single to be taken the band's comeback album Push and Shove reached No 397 on the singles chart, some 1,500 copies short of breaking into the Top 200, reports NME.com.

It's an odd result, given the relative popularity of singer Gwen Stefani and the group's recent performance on x factor, which usually lifts an artist's sales by around 300 per cent. The album peaked at No.16 in the chart, selling less than 7,000 copies while first single Settle Down reached No.85. Essentially, it's been a disastrous comeback for the group, who were criticised for their video for Looking Hot, which depicted Gwen Stefani as a Native American squaw dancing in a tepee. The band apologised for any offence and pulled the clip. It could go towards explaining the single's poor performance, and Last.FM say 28,000 people have "scrobbled" the song, which has clocked 117,000 plays. It's likely that fans are playing the songs on streaming services such as Spotify, rather than downloading and listening on iTunes.

Though the band has made its millions over the years, its recent chart performance will disappoint Stefani and company. She's probably rueing the decision to pull the plug on her hugely successful solo career and reunite with her old pals.

No Doubt has pulled its video for new single 'Looking Hot' and offered an apology after the clip's content was accused of being racist. The video featured an Old West theme and saw singer Gwen Stefani in Native American-style clothing whilst taking part in native rituals.

It was the Facebook page of For Accurate Indigenous Representation Media (F.A.I.R) who first flagged the video and sent a message to the band, "Gwen Stefani - You may think you are 'Looking Hot' - but you are not. You are just looking like yet another insensitive, entitled, Hipster who is letting her white privilege slip show. And it's oh so unfashionable," read the post. The video was directed by Melina Matsoukas - sound familiar? She helmed the video for Rihanna's S&M, which prompted a lawsuit by David LaChapelle, who accused the pair of appropriating his images without consent. In its apology for the video - which was removed from YouTube and Vevo - the band said, "As a multi-racial band our foundation is built upon both diversity and consideration for other cultures," the statement reads. "Our intention with our new video was never to offend, hurt or trivialize Native American people, their culture or their history." Unsurprisingly, the apology was met with a supportive response on the F.A.I.R Facebook page. "Happy to hear that they took the comment seriously and did something about it," wrote Tammy Copegog Cascagnette, "Hopefully, word will spread and we won't have to keep dealing with this."
